Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted December 24, 2005 Posted December 24, 2005 D-Dad and I are planning on seeing this later, so I figured I'd start the thread so I can be ready to post my impressions when I get home. If anyone has seen it already, feel free to start talking about it.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted December 24, 2005 Posted December 24, 2005 We're back from the movies, and disappointed. While the acting (led by George Clooney and Matt Damon) was great, the film itself was disjointed and it meandered. It was watchable (a testament to the cast), it was unintelligible. The basic concept of the film dealing with the international oil community is inherently interesting, the movie took the topic and rendered it dull. Also, be forewarned that there are some scenes not for the queasy. It wasn't horrible. But it should have been better.
Guest sharpie Guests Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 Didn't like it. Disjointed, way too long and oddly uncompelling. Too much story going on, would have been better as a mini-series so that they didn't have to rush all of that plot in.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted February 6, 2007 Posted February 6, 2007 I was lost throughout the entire first hour. I started to get it towards the middle of the movie, but all in all, it was a huge disappointment. I felt like the entire time, the movie was trying to tell me that I wasn't smart enough to get it.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted February 6, 2007 Posted February 6, 2007 BTW, Babel makes Syrianna look coherent by comparison.
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted February 6, 2007 Posted February 6, 2007 I thought it was the feel-good movie of the summer!
