nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 so the writers didn't look away from the wins column? Clemens had a historically good season.153, 151, 221, 141 are the ERA+ scores of the top 4, which do YOU think had the best year, this isn't even close.btw, this was the 16th highest ERA+ of all time and i have a strong feeling those 2 votes came from Houston writers.....this man was ROBBED.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 If you look at his win in 2001, it all comes out in the wash. For him, at least.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 How the hell did Ishii not even get a single third-place vote?!?! I'm stunned.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted November 11, 2005 Posted November 11, 2005 A buddy from Houston just emailed me the other day about how Clemens was sure to win this award. And the Rocket had the numbers.Only 2 votes! Im truly shocked.Still, Ill have some fun with this when I respond to him, lol.I wasnt surprized Carpenter got it.I was suprised it wasnt closer between the top 3: Carpenter,Willis and Clemens.
Guest SI Metman Guests Posted November 11, 2005 Posted November 11, 2005 I'm actually more shocked that Pedro didn't pick up a third place vote or two...
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted November 11, 2005 Posted November 11, 2005 Should probably have more like ten slots on the ballot.
