MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2005 Posted October 7, 2005 Now that you've had a chance to check out the playoff games, have you seen a player/ pitcher about whom you've said: THAT guy is starting for a playoff team? My thoughts were, "How lame must a team be if Orlando Palmiero is their regular left fielder?" Any others you've spotted? Later
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2005 Posted October 7, 2005 My general thoughts are that the NL playoffs are garbage, I hate to say that but for whatever reason the AL games are better to watch IMO, it could be because the Padres and Braves are just not that interesting, nor are the Cards and Astros for that matter.I've given this some serious thought and maybe I only enjoy it when the MFY's lose and until they get beaten I can't enjoy the rest of the games, but it can't be just that, the NL games I've watched have been tough to stay tuned into, the White Sox are fun to watch and I'm kinda hoping they have a great run in them but I also hope the Red Sox make it a series.

Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2005 Posted October 7, 2005 Me last night when the Astros were batting against Smoltz in the first inning: "Go Astros!"Me last night five minutes later when I realized Clemens was pitching: "Fuck! Never mind...forget what I said before...Go Braves!"
Guest rpackrat Guests Posted October 7, 2005 Posted October 7, 2005 I was still rooting for the Astros last nigh, but I was hoping they'd win 15-14.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2005 Posted October 7, 2005 From the article sharpie posted..]Rick Sutcliffe, an analyst who could have made Game 1 of the 1988 World Series sound boring, droned on about how the Braves had won a small victory because the Astros' closer had to start warming up in the bullpenhe's the absolute worst, at times Sutcliffe talks so low you'd think he was doing golf commentry.
HahnSolo Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2005 Posted October 7, 2005 My thought in watching the Sox-Sox series is that the White Sox found a Japanese middle infielder who can actually play.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted October 7, 2005 Posted October 7, 2005 That homer by Iguchi is fast turning into an all-round beat-up-on-Matsui opportunity.
