Ervin Santana is carving a very special niche in Angels history today. Hits A-Rod, gives up a rocket single to Giambi, then pop up, pop up, and the ol' K-WP-batter-runner-called-out-for-interference-at-first-base play.

I'm not convinced they won't live to regret not getting a run out of a 1st & 2nd, no out situation in the 6th but what do I know.

That whole inning Suzyn couldn't stop ballwashing the Angels for how great they were at moving runners over and that that's the kind of ball the MFYs should be playing.

As she yakked away she failed to relaize

1) Rivera didn';t get Erstad over

2) The bunt did jack shit.

i have a secret...

i actually found myself rooting for arod this series... i can't explain it. i mean, i guess i kinda feel for the guy basically being an mvp this season, and the only reason that yankee fans would argue the case for him is to argue against big papi.

hell, i hope he does win he mvp, so that yankee fans can look extra bad for hating the guy.

a) Media types love "small ball" because they think it's more interesting to talk about and "analyze" than HR-ball.

Yanqui fans are largely under this impression that what they had during their winning stretch was some kind of scrappy, over-achieving, small-ball type of club -- as if having the better of the pitching matchups 80-some% of the time and that they were usually at or near the top in AL HRs (even while not having one huge HR guy) had little to do with the run.

Who cares about the MVP, I'm sure Rodriguez has a fat clause in his contract for more money if he gets it, but it don't mean shit, he batted what in this series, under .200?
