seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted October 10, 2005 Posted October 10, 2005 I was mad when our dog popped our Mets ThunderStix. I thought they were neat. He apparently did not agree.Ervin Santana is carving a very special niche in Angels history today. Hits A-Rod, gives up a rocket single to Giambi, then pop up, pop up, and the ol' K-WP-batter-runner-called-out-for-interference-at-first-base play.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted October 10, 2005 Posted October 10, 2005 Wow. Not as if the MFYs don't owe every team about a billion breaks still but ... wow. Keep it up.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted October 10, 2005 Posted October 10, 2005 No matter what happens in this game Santana was amazing coming out of the pen.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted October 10, 2005 Posted October 10, 2005 I'm not convinced they won't live to regret not getting a run out of a 1st & 2nd, no out situation in the 6th but what do I know. That whole inning Suzyn couldn't stop ballwashing the Angels for how great they were at moving runners over and that that's the kind of ball the MFYs should be playing. As she yakked away she failed to relaize 1) Rivera didn';t get Erstad over2) The bunt did jack shit.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted October 10, 2005 Posted October 10, 2005 JD you should switch to 1050am , Dan Shulman is a freaking brilliant announcer.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted October 10, 2005 Posted October 10, 2005 Nervous, especially after the Los Angeles Angels of Move-the-Runner-Up wasted another leadoff single in their 7th.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted October 10, 2005 Posted October 10, 2005 Go, my sons.Finish what you have started.I give you my benediction.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted October 10, 2005 Posted October 10, 2005 K-Rod to close this out, come on you Angel....
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted October 10, 2005 Posted October 10, 2005 Captain Clutch and the Intangibles just played their latest single. No matter how this show ends, it'll be overplayed by the end of the week.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted October 10, 2005 Posted October 10, 2005 K-Rod gets Pay-Rod to ground into a 5-4-3 double play. One out to go.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted October 10, 2005 Posted October 10, 2005 Thank G-D!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
smg58 Old-Timey Member Posted October 10, 2005 Posted October 10, 2005 PS A great play by Erstad to boot.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 10, 2005 Author Posted October 10, 2005 And a very happy 'Elimination Day' to you all!
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted October 10, 2005 Posted October 10, 2005 Oh Happy days, I'm not sure what makes me more happy, the fact that the Shanks lost or that Rodriguez sucked in a big way, yeah he had six walks but who cares...Santana was brilliant, great pitching by him.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted October 10, 2005 Posted October 10, 2005 I feel a lightness in my heart, and the air seems so much cleaner now.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted October 10, 2005 Posted October 10, 2005 SK I'm with you, we can now enjoy baseball again, I now don't care who wins the WS , although Chicago would be a great story..
metsmarathon Old-Timey Member Posted October 10, 2005 Posted October 10, 2005 i have a secret...i actually found myself rooting for arod this series... i can't explain it. i mean, i guess i kinda feel for the guy basically being an mvp this season, and the only reason that yankee fans would argue the case for him is to argue against big papi. hell, i hope he does win he mvp, so that yankee fans can look extra bad for hating the guy.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 10, 2005 Author Posted October 10, 2005 ]That whole inning Suzyn couldn't stop ballwashing the Angels for how great they were at moving runners over and that that's the kind of ball the MFYs should be playing. a) Media types love "small ball" because they think it's more interesting to talk about and "analyze" than HR-ball. Yanqui fans are largely under this impression that what they had during their winning stretch was some kind of scrappy, over-achieving, small-ball type of club -- as if having the better of the pitching matchups 80-some% of the time and that they were usually at or near the top in AL HRs (even while not having one huge HR guy) had little to do with the run.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted October 10, 2005 Posted October 10, 2005 Who cares about the MVP, I'm sure Rodriguez has a fat clause in his contract for more money if he gets it, but it don't mean shit, he batted what in this series, under .200?
Guest rpackrat Guests Posted October 11, 2005 Posted October 11, 2005 Local news showing any shots of fat MFY fans sobbing in bars?
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted October 11, 2005 Posted October 11, 2005 Reorder fit?Refried rot?Dirt or free?
