Guest KC Guests Posted September 24, 2005 Posted September 24, 2005 Not to flog a dead mule, but why is Cairo playing?Wright =
Guest SwitchHitter Guests Posted September 24, 2005 Posted September 24, 2005 I came here looking for an IGT. Yahoo says y'all are in the sixth. I guess nothing's happening.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2005 Posted September 24, 2005 lookin good! And Wright makes my wish come true. A granny gives him a chance for 100 ribbys this yr. He's also batting in the top 10 in the NL at .307. (the main reason I was wishin for another dinger was I was holdin that^ kaboom)
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2005 Posted September 24, 2005 Glavine has looked good tonight; only one walk (to Vidro in the 8th), six K's, four hits and two runs.Reyes and Willie apparently got EJECTED in the seventh for arguing balls and strikes, but I missed it (we were watching Coheed & Cambria, my new favorite band, on Fuse). I can't believe Willie actually argued! Perhaps he was thrown out by mistake.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2005 Posted September 24, 2005 Hernandez to close again. This is one they coulda thrown to Looper. Like a bone.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2005 Posted September 24, 2005 And Bert gets the save; Tom Glavine moves to #29 on the All-Time Win list with 274, breaking his tie with Red Ruffing.
Guest KC Guests Posted September 24, 2005 Posted September 24, 2005 I didn't see them get tossed, but Reyes got robbed of a double or triple byfirst base blue who called it foul and then he gets robbed of first on a closeplay in the same AB. I don't know if the ejections are related, though. Met win, 5-2. Nice job by Glavine and Hernandez to close. All the runs comein the first and it's enough this time around. Please check your belongings and arrive home safe!
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2005 Posted September 24, 2005 So ol man Hernandez wraps it up. Nice.I missed all the excitement in the 1st inning.Still, good game and good win for the Mets.Does that make em .500?that or a game under.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted September 24, 2005 Posted September 24, 2005 I really love reading stories with a happy ending.Glavine seems to have really found himself in the latter part of the season. He has pitched quite well since the start of August. He seems to be pitching inside more frequently and has mixed a curve in with the fastball and change. Hopefully, the adjustments he has made will pay off next year, since I don't think he's very likely to be traded in the winter due to his contract.
Zach Thornton Syracuse Mets - AAA LHP On Sunday, the southpaw tossed five shutout innings as the bulk pitcher. He gave up 2 hits, walked 2 and had 5 strikeouts. Explore Zach Thornton News >
