Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 0-11Come on, Anderson. Cut this out. Sandy Alomar called and left you a message to cut it out.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted October 1, 2005 Posted October 1, 2005 Now 0-14.At least he has a walk and a run scored.C'mon Anderson. Put it behind you!
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted October 1, 2005 Posted October 1, 2005 Pinch single for Offerman. Castro reaches and Anderson Hernandez gets one more McCracken at the plate. On edit: Didn't happen. Have to be tomorrow.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2005 Posted October 1, 2005 i was hoping Anderson would get that hit in his last AB, hopefully Willie will play him Sunday and he gets it, I swear his stance at the plate is a dead ringer for Reyes, little wiggle of the bat and all.

Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted October 2, 2005 Posted October 2, 2005 If not, it'll kill his confidence...
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted October 2, 2005 Posted October 2, 2005 In the lineup this afternoon.Let's see him do it with a bunt.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted October 2, 2005 Posted October 2, 2005 Two on, two out, two down.Good time now, Andy.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted October 2, 2005 Posted October 2, 2005 Bingo! Dribbler between first and second and AH ends the season 1 for 18.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted October 2, 2005 Posted October 2, 2005 Congrats Anderson, picked a great day to get his first hit.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted October 2, 2005 Posted October 2, 2005 Did he beat Willie Mays to that first hit? Didn't Willie go o-fer 20+ AB before that homer off Spahn?Later
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted October 2, 2005 Posted October 2, 2005 Which means this kid is going to be about seven ABs better than Willie Mays. That's pretty impressive.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted October 2, 2005 Posted October 2, 2005 Let's see how well the kid does in his next 10,000+ at bats.
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted October 2, 2005 Posted October 2, 2005 10,000?!?!? Cripes, talk about setting expectations high. Let's see him at least get a full season in before we start talking about him joining an elite club of 23 other players in history.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted October 2, 2005 Posted October 2, 2005 I was trying to put the comparisons to Willie Mays in perspective. Anderson Hernandez went 1-18 in a late season call up. Regardless of how slowly Mays started his career, he did exceptionally well in the 10,000 plus at bats that followed. I was probably being over sensitive of Anderson Hernandez being mentioned even remotely as being on par with Willie Mays. I'm just cranky about the Mets season coming to an end.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2005 Posted October 3, 2005 Nobody was honestly comparing AH to the Say Hey Kid. I think it was just an observation.
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2005 Posted October 3, 2005 Too bad he wasn't brought up earlier this year. I don't know what Willie and Omar were thinking. If he had replaced the Kaz/Cairo combo we would have definitely made the playoffs.Sarcasm aside, I was at the park for two players' first major league hits this year. Go me.
