Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted September 13, 2005 Posted September 13, 2005 Reyes walked, barely made it back on a close pickoff attempt, then DID make it back and got called out anyway. Truly, a blown call. WWSB showed a tiny amount of unhappiness with the call, leaving the dugout to write a polite note to the umpire.Matsui wiffed on a pitch in the dirt, Beltran walked and Wright grounded into a FP.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted September 13, 2005 Posted September 13, 2005 All those notes are going to pay off, eventually. You'll see.

Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted September 13, 2005 Posted September 13, 2005 Dear Mr. Miller,Please forgive this interruption in tonight's game, but I am compelled to point out to you that, although I am not positioned at your vantage point and I respect your abilities, training and experience, as a "winner" who does things properly, far be it from me to question your judgement but allow me to express the potential of a disagreement, not really a potential disagreement a possible difference of opinion, as to the safety of my shortstop on that recent play at first base.Far be it from me to expect you to change your ruling on this matter, as I intend to obey the rules, and I deeply respect and trust in the authority that comes with the Major League umpiring uniform, and your clean-shaven face, nor do I have any expectation that at some other point in this game or any other we may have the pleasure of sharing in the future, that any semblance of a "make-up" call be required. Indeed, Mr. Miller, I expect nothing other than to demonstrate concern for my fine young charges and by example teach them to play the game the "right way," and so please understand Dir Sir it is with great regret and a sense of duty that I am compelled to say I am surprised that a gentleman as accurate and precise as yourself appears to have maybe perhaps committed an rare error of judgement this first inning.Until our next meeting, hopefully under more pleasant circumstancse I remain your most humble servent sincerely,William S.B. RandolphP.S.: Mr. Meintiewicz said "cough-sufferer."
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted September 13, 2005 Posted September 13, 2005 Damn - tied games, with Nats on first and second and no outs

Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2005 Posted September 13, 2005 Base hit brings home another, but then a soft liner to Jose gets an out.2-1, first and third, one down.____________________________This post had the designation 156) Pete Harnisch
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2005 Posted September 13, 2005 ScarletKnight41 wrote:Damn - tied games, with Nats on first and second and no outs not any more.2-1 Nats and only 1 out, and they have runners on the corners
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2005 Posted September 13, 2005 Very weak grounder in the hole because Reyes was at double play depth. 3-1.____________________________This post had the designation 156) Pete Harnisch
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2005 Posted September 13, 2005 that Wilson guy drives in another.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted September 13, 2005 Posted September 13, 2005 Dicked over by a poor judgement by Jacobs trying to get greedy on the sac attempt, followed by 4 hits and a line drive out. We're in deep trouble.

Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2005 Posted September 13, 2005 It's always nice when Marlon throws out Marlon. For posterity, Anderson caught a foul pop in fairly shallow left, and threw a one hopper to Castro. A nice tag by Castro, catching it on the left side of the plate on the left side of his body and bringing the ball bag to apply the tag.____________________________This post had the designation 156) Pete Harnisch
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2005 Posted September 13, 2005 I was thinking "There goes the bullpen" when Frannie said that someone was warming. But then I saw Vic Z in the pen. Nice to have a real long man. And I'm not talking about his locker room prowess.____________________________This post had the designation 156) Pete Harnisch
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2005 Posted September 13, 2005 1 run off the emergency starter through 3. Even if the Mets have a team OPS of 1.500 for the rest of the year I will still say they can't hit. That's how disgusted I am.Dammit and I thought I was jumping on the Denial Bandwagon.____________________________This post had the designation 156) Pete Harnisch
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2005 Posted September 13, 2005 lol.I think..........I hope.....Glavine will settle in and go 7 or 8
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2005 Posted September 13, 2005 I've got a six-pack of Sam Adams in the fridge waiting for the right moment. It might be time to get started.____________________________This post had the designation 156) Pete Harnisch
Guest Rotblatt Guests Posted September 13, 2005 Posted September 13, 2005 Well, Carrasco is a pretty good pitcher. 2.04 ERA, 1.10 WHIP . . . Not to shabby. Hopefully we'll get another crack at him.
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2005 Posted September 13, 2005 Hmph. I didn't realize. I'm a grouch.____________________________This post had the designation 156) Pete Harnisch
