Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted September 10, 2005 Posted September 10, 2005 I didn't expect to see Piazza back in the line up. It's too late for the team, but I hope Mike can have a decent run to end the season (and his career as a Met).
Guest KC Guests Posted September 10, 2005 Posted September 10, 2005 Lol, Piazza goes yard to right field in his first AB since early August.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted September 10, 2005 Posted September 10, 2005 Damn. Edmonds' 2-run homer gives back the lead
Guest KC Guests Posted September 10, 2005 Posted September 10, 2005 Suppan takes Trax deep for a homer. Baseball can be evil when you moanand grown about almost losing a job then getting it back. It's 4-1after a Pujolsdouble and Walker something or other through four innings.
Guest Rotblatt Guests Posted September 10, 2005 Posted September 10, 2005 Well, things not looking good for the Mets as Trachs gives up a homer to Suppan, but Piazza's home run was magic. First at bat in like a month after rushing back from an injury? And the Mets averaging around 2 runs a game for the last two weeks? That was money. Pujols doubles down the left field line, then Walker with a single past a diving Matsui. Diaz makes a strong but offline throw to the plate, which Piazza can't hang on to but Trachs gets Walker trying for third to end the inning.Trachs doesn't look good. It might be Graves time before much longer. Except Willie will probably use Heilman instead.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted September 10, 2005 Posted September 10, 2005 Old Met GM Bing Devine is in the Cardinal booth.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted September 10, 2005 Posted September 10, 2005 This day in baseball, 1919, Ray Caldwell of the Indians no-hits the Yankees, two weeks after being struck by lightning.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted September 10, 2005 Posted September 10, 2005 I'd pinch-hit for Trax here. Cmon. It's September.

Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted September 10, 2005 Posted September 10, 2005 It's hard to blame the pitching coach when Trachsel can't come through with the bags juiced.

Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted September 10, 2005 Posted September 10, 2005 Hamulack and Jose did the Mets out with a double play.

Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted September 10, 2005 Posted September 10, 2005 It helps when the first line is brief.Matsui is aflame. We need to drive the guy home, though.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted September 10, 2005 Posted September 10, 2005 Cliffie, keeps the threat alive. Mets at the corners with one out.

Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted September 10, 2005 Posted September 10, 2005 The Cardinals have cut to the break with "Boys Don't Cry" by the Cure and "The Lunatics" by the Specials.Better than the ESPN-ish corporate rock just about every team is using.

Guest cooby Guests Posted September 10, 2005 Posted September 10, 2005 Is he okay? (tonight I can't watch)
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted September 10, 2005 Posted September 10, 2005 He's been removed from the game. He was alert and walking under his own power, but seemed woozy. Direct hit that bounced almost straight back.Prompt DP followed by a Diaz solo dose of thunder.
