seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2005 Posted September 4, 2005 Welcome to the big leagues, Marlins SS Robert Andino.
Theoldmole Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2005 Posted September 4, 2005 Think this would make it in "Would you rather..."?Would you rather go to a party with hot chicks or see Miguel Cairo starting at second?Meanwhile, Hernandez in to start the 8th.And I'll puke if I see that commercial where Joe and Willie give signs to each other again.
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2005 Posted September 4, 2005 In out of town news, Ken Griffey Jr. hit his 35th home run of the year, tying him with Mickey Mantle for 12th on the all-time home run list with 536.
Theoldmole Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2005 Posted September 4, 2005 Another close call for Minky -- first Met error in ten games. Not at a crucial moment.
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2005 Posted September 4, 2005 Beltran singles home Reyes, 6-1 Metsies.
Theoldmole Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2005 Posted September 4, 2005 And Wright follows with a neat piece of hitting. 7-1.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted September 4, 2005 Posted September 4, 2005 Mr. Wright drives in KazMat again. Gotta love that boy.Meanwhile, earlier in the game, the tv announcers (maybe Seaver, but I can't remember) commented that Matsui is playing like a man who wants to keep his job.7-1 Mets in the 9th.
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2005 Posted September 4, 2005 Here's Manker at the plate.
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2005 Posted September 4, 2005 Dammit Manker!Oh well, two more insurance runs for Looper.
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2005 Posted September 4, 2005 IIRC, Damion Easley was the biggest buyout in history a few years back.
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2005 Posted September 4, 2005 One out away, facing the rookie Andino.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted September 4, 2005 Posted September 4, 2005 And it's a final. The Mets win!
Guest Rotblatt Guests Posted September 4, 2005 Posted September 4, 2005 A good game. Let's hope it's the start of something. But I wouldn't count on it.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted September 4, 2005 Posted September 4, 2005 Spent the afternoon working in the yard and enjoying the beautiful sunshine. This thread was a fine capper to a wonderfaul day. Glad to see Kaz Matsui finally get a chance. It sounds as if he did more good things today that Cairo has in the past week. Keep Kaz at second base, Willie.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2005 Posted September 5, 2005 couldnt make the scene and couldnt watch the game. I hate when its on TV and I cant watch it, but its one a those busy weekends. I did see Floyds shot on ESPN earlier and THAT WAS A FROZEN ROPE!, baby. STRAIGHT CENTER! A recharged Floyd is just what we need so im glad he is proving me wrong about being tired and losing his punch. He's got that energy back, and we need it sooooo bad. If he stays charged thru September we will hang.Matsui was big? Ill take it. And I hope he does play like he want his job, and contributes in a way that make us all forget the bumps in his road.Seo does it again, and I wont even look at the downside that he shoulda been up with us all year. We are where we are and he's here now. I am waiting to see the hilights of the entire game. Watchin Sportcenter now. Just saw the clips. Wright with his 36th double! YES.Havent checked yet but I hope theres a BaseballTonight on ESPN soonso maybe I get to see some extended coverage.Looks like there was a small rooting section here, but at least some of you guys made it. (and i had a custom Kaboom all done up for Floyd, dagnabbitt----well, he'll just have to hit another one tomorrow.)This was a much needed win.Cripes, they all are from now on,lol.Phils lost to Wash, and Phils will be playing Houston for 3 games, so this is a good opportunity to start movin up again. Someones gonna have to lose those games.Trachsels outting vs Atlanta tomorrow is huge and I have my fingers crossed so hard that they are turning blue. I really hope for him to pitch as well as last time out.heres some pics from todays game:
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2005 Posted September 5, 2005 i was working all night, i missed from the 5th inning on...nice to see that Roberto Hernandez isn't available for bases loaded vs. Cabrera but is available for mop-up duty in a 7-1 win...nice fuckin bullpen management there.
