Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 Jacobs isn't for real right? I'm just dreaming all of this right? I mean this is the METS, right?!?!?!
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 OMGMike Jacobs says Ka-Boom! Now PLEASE don't send me back to Binghamton!3-0 Mets!
Guest martin Guests Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 it really is a powerful looking swing that kid has. smooth and big. before the season i figured it would be ok to not have a big power guy at 1b. but i think i may have been wrong. now i think 1b is a position where you really shouldnt waste time with a guy who isnt gonna bash the ball.
Guest Beenso Guests Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 Zvon........it is a NL league and Jacobs is available at catcher so it ends up being good considering Ramon Hernandez was my catcher...

Its appreciated to be appreciated.Im gettin the frackin Houston game on ESPN 2 here.Well, Ill keep ya posted on that game.
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 How enjoyable is Mike Jacobs?
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 You just want to buy Jacobs and ice cream cone and tell him, "Good job, kid!"
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 Jacobs again!Wowzers. You see!?the kids hungry to stay up. Hes focused. His bat is an unknown and the opposition will have to figure out how to pitch the kid. In the meantime KABOOM!!!!city. We really need a shot in the arm like Jacobs. Then hitting becomes contagious, cuz the vets are like'Hey, we cant let this rookie show us all up",lol.
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 When even Matsui plays well, you know everything's going all right.
Guest GYC Guests Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 A 2-run groundout... I'm dying laughing here... hahaha
Theoldmole Old-Timey Member Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 You don't see that too often.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 OMG! Two runs score on a double play ball because KazMat kept the rundown going long enough to let them cross the plate before the end of the inning! 5-0 Mets!
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 Nice rundown! This can't be the Mets, but if I'm dreaming, don't wake me up.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 WE owed Arizona this one, the last one... and a few more too. F them.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 Huge props to Matsui, Bob Melvin should be fuming, that was brutal from his team.Good job by the Mets though.
DocTee Old-Timey Member Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 with our upcoming schedule, we'd better make up ground on the d-Backs and Giants-we cant keep waiting for the hot streak, we need to make it happen nowBTW-- anyone heading to SBC this weekend? I'll be there.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 It's a quick 1-2-3 second inning for Seo.

Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 ]Bob Melvin should be fuming, that was brutal from his teamThat after the DBaggs had a 90-minute players-only, closed-door meeting. What do you suppose they discussed?"All right fellas, let's go out there and take these guys lightly!"
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 ="Beenso"]Zvon........it is a NL league and Jacobs is available at catcher so it ends up being good considering Ramon Hernandez was my catcher...That would have been a good pickup 4 ya.I managed to get Pudge Rod and Piazza on my team in both leagues, and I was able to use Piazza at 1st. But I really very rarely have, or used him as catcher as well. Its so hard to fill in for your catcher when he has his off day. Even though PudgeRod was gettin Sundays primarily the 1st half. trying to back up your catchers off day every week will drive you absolutely crazy tho. Im living proof. Ive been trying all season.*Zvon runs across the room and jumps out the window*~~~~~~~~~(I am thinking of dropping Piazza(DL) now. Probly wont tho. Already brought up that Cubs catcher for the spot.My Met loyalty factor costs me sometimes. But I dont mind. Sometimes Id just rather have players I tend to be watching anyway..Between the two teams I have Reyes,Wright,Piazza, Benson. had Galvine, dropped him be4 the break)Padres take the lead over Houston 2-1 in the 3rd, and have a man on 3rd and 1 out
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 It feels good to watch August baseball that counts for us,our team song should be this..
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 Mr. Wright just misses a home run and has to settle for a double. He was overheard muttering to himself, "I'm just as good and as lovable as Mike Jacobs, dammit!"
