I don't want to seem like I'm nitpicking, but the spelling of the name "LINDSEY" is somewhat of a hot-button issue in my house.

Mr. Nelson spelled his name with an -EY, not an -AY.

It's Lindsay Wagner, but Lindsey Nelson.

Otherwise, my reaction was similar to cooby's. Anybody who'd take all of those photos of a Mr. Met doll would make a fun dad.

Cany anybody tell what was up with the red shoes? Did he really wear them in 1984? How could I have missed that? I seem to remember all the Mets wearing blue and orange Ponys from about 1980 to 1984. I associate them with Neil Allen.

I'm going to guess that A) even though it comes from the Mets official website that its not an "Official" Mr Met and probably some fan contest participant or something and note the name Mr. Met has NEVER been seen on Mr. Met's front which leads to B) Could be a prototype "Mr Met" (was Dan O'Reilly a Met employee at the time?) before the Mets ever debuted so I'm guessing sometime in 1961 for the photo Steve

These are from the 1965 Yearbook AFAIK these are the oldest known photos of Mr. Met in official Mets publications as I own the 62-64 programs and the 64 yearbook and can not find an earlier example of the big Baseball Head
