Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 I think the other teams in the National League East have done a good job playing Sluggo.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 ]So, it was off to Cooperstown, home of the hallowed. The Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum. First thing I heard him say was, "Lindsay. Oh, boy, I loved Lindsay." So we together peaked into the case and... I don't want to seem like I'm nitpicking, but the spelling of the name "LINDSEY" is somewhat of a hot-button issue in my house.Mr. Nelson spelled his name with an -EY, not an -AY.It's Lindsay Wagner, but Lindsey Nelson.Otherwise, my reaction was similar to cooby's. Anybody who'd take all of those photos of a Mr. Met doll would make a fun dad.(By the way, you owe Value Village 2¢.)
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 This will make all of our vacation pictures suck by comparison. I'm on my way out of town for a week and don't have a mascot packed.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 Mister is getting antsy laying about. I'll pack him off to you.Sorry about Mr. Wagner. You're quite right. Permission to change?Cany anybody tell what was up with the red shoes? Did he really wear them in 1984? How could I have missed that? I seem to remember all the Mets wearing blue and orange Ponys from about 1980 to 1984. I associate them with Neil Allen.

Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 Like perhaps the shoes he wore while pitching his no-hitter?Great job Edgy - I can't wait to show it to MK when he gets home :)
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 ="ScarletKnight41"]Like perhaps the shoes he wore while pitching his no-hitter?Or maybe the shoes he wore when he dressed as Judy Garland at the Mets' Wizard of Oz party at the Diamond Club.
metsmarathon Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 hey, i've got a very similar-looking mister met, wearing a black home jersey instead of the stripes, sitting right here on my desk watching me.. uh... do work.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 ="Willets Point"]What about the young Mr. Met in his saucy teen years?I thought I had seen every pertinent met image ever commited to film. But that one is new to me.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted September 17, 2005 Posted September 17, 2005 D-Dad firmly believes that Mr. Met was drinking root beer in that photo :)
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted September 17, 2005 Posted September 17, 2005 In contrast to his father, MK commented, "Talk about a tall glass!"
