Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 So this morning I had to rent a car to drive to a work thingy and on the way back into the city (returning the vehicle to 43rd & 2nd) I bypassed the 42nd street exit ramp which could take me to the Hess gas station at 10th & 45th and instead headed off downtown. Driving crosstown in heavy slow traffic, I called the rental place asking where I could fill up nearby and she said "62nd & York is the only one I know." So I crossed to 1st Ave., drove uptown to 62nd and came out @York only to realize the gas station was on the opposite side of the street and a Uie was inadvisable in the traffic. So like an idiot, I made a left at the next street, hoping there was some escape but instead found myself on the northbound FDR. Did I mention I had to pee since Jersey? Up to 96th street, back down 2nd Ave at a snail's pace, down to 58th, over to York, gassed up, over to 2nd again and back downtown to 43rd to drop off the stupid car. This was about 1.25 hours after exiting the Tunnel and I had to pee so bad I could barely walk. So I stopped at the Hyatt at Grand Central and used their well-appointed men's room and on the way out, happened to notice some big guys in suits over to the left. Of course, this is where the visitors stay. They were Braves.I'm so late I couldn't hang around and see who was who, but outside, there a bunch of dorky kids weariung various Braves gear, holding pens and cards and stuff. So I find the dorkiest one and say, "Hi, I'm Andruw Jones. Can I sign for you?"He looked at me all braces, napoleon dynamite style.Play Ball!

Guest Bret Sabermetric Guests Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 I was late switching back from the Sox-MFY game (good guys up 4-2) when I caught Lolita Lopez saying someone was injured, maybe a broken bone, won't be coming back any time soon...who was she talking about?

Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 We should win all games where Beltran goes 4-4 and Wright hits two home runs.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 Cornelius up with the tying run on second after a double by Beltran.Don't be laim against a lefty again, Cliffy.Quick 2-0.
