Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted June 26, 2005 Posted June 26, 2005 Kevin Reese: 27-y.o. from Columbus, hitting 280 there and not bad #'s for a lengthy minor league career. Henn was shitcanned to Columbus to make room, and Jaret Wright was transferred to the 60-day DL to make room.Too bad for Minky on our part. It's going to be hard to make a real big run without him (tho it was also with him) but you know. It looked like he was just regaining his swing.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted June 26, 2005 Posted June 26, 2005 ]Henn was shitcanned to Columbus to make roomBefore or after the 8th inning of yesterday's game?
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2005 Posted June 26, 2005 "Hey, kid. Welcome to the major leagues. Your debut? Tonight. Against the Mets. On Sunday Night Baseball on ESPN."If this Reese kid gets hit by a bus tomorrow and never appears in a major league game again, he probably still has a pretty good story to tell his grandkids.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2005 Posted June 26, 2005 This game is being hyped all day on the "FAN as a must win for the MFY, Rosenberg expects Steinbrenner to fire someone tomorrow if they lose, Roy White being the one to get canned, and his recent tirades at 1st base against the Mets is being seen as a desperate man knowing he is in the mix to get fired so he's showing his warrior mentality...so said Klapisch......
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted June 26, 2005 Posted June 26, 2005 Pretty creepy of Klapisch to say.]Before or after the 8th inning of yesterday's game? Can I read Stottlemyre's lips or what?
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted June 26, 2005 Posted June 26, 2005 The ESPN crew doesn't think that Benson can go deep in the game without striking out Yankees.I'm not sure why that's the case. But Morgan was convinced of the truth of his theory.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted June 26, 2005 Posted June 26, 2005 Morgan sucks the Yankees' d--ks as much as the YES crew. But, despite the blow jobs and lack of strikeouts, the game is scoreless after one complete inning.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2005 Posted June 26, 2005 And now Floyd fouls a ball off his knee. OUCH.

But Morgan was convinced of the truth of his theory. And right after Joe pronounced that, he induced a 6-3 groundout. And Joe, without a hint of cognitive dissonance, said "That's what he has to do to be successful -- induce groundouts."I hate Joe Morgan, "broadcaster."

The Big O Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2005 Posted June 26, 2005 ]Welcome aboard O.Are you new here, or recently renamed?New board, figured it was time for a change. Don't recognize your moniker either. Why aren't quotes working?
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted June 26, 2005 Posted June 26, 2005 I was Inside Pitcher on the old board.Unclick Disable BBCode beneath the post and the quotes should work.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted June 26, 2005 Posted June 26, 2005 Benson walks the rookie. The ESPN crew is eating it up.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted June 26, 2005 Posted June 26, 2005 I'm not sure, but make sure "BBCode" is enabled in your profile.I'm not sure I remembered a poster who was particularly fond of Orel at the ol' board, but welcome.Too bad Cammie couldn't get that runner home from third with one out. On the other hand, a ten-pitch for him against Johnson has to be something of a small moral victory.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted June 26, 2005 Posted June 26, 2005 Benson's given up two baserunners (one hit and one walk) through three. But he's struck out none, so, despite being only 32 pitches into his evening, he won't go deep.Is that the thinking?
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted June 26, 2005 Posted June 26, 2005 Benson isn't K'ing many this year is what Joe was saying.Anyway, that was a Big K of Juiceambi, so I'm happy. Lotta harmless popups otherwise.

Lotta harmless popups otherwise.Benson'd only walked 14 coming in (1 this game I think) with a 1.16 WHIP -- tasty.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted June 26, 2005 Posted June 26, 2005 Awfulman is in the building and wearing No. 35.5 scoreless for Anna's Banana.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted June 26, 2005 Posted June 26, 2005 Well, two strikeouts that inning.Thank Joe Torre for being so spooked by Bernie Williams' dropsies that he ended up putting Womack in center and batting him second. Now let's get a few more runs so Kris Benson can get the van rocking in the Bronx tonight.
Guest SI Metman Guests Posted June 26, 2005 Posted June 26, 2005 Man, it's gotten so bad that I muted the tv and put on the radio, despite the lag.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted June 26, 2005 Posted June 26, 2005 Kablammy just hit the Todd Zeile spot on the wall, didn't he?
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted June 26, 2005 Posted June 26, 2005 If you believe Gameday, both Carlos Beltran and Mike Piazza were chasing pitches off the plate there. To which I say, "Relax, a walk is fine. Cliffy will pick you up."
Guest abogdan Guests Posted June 26, 2005 Posted June 26, 2005 Don't like the way the bottom of the 6th is starting.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted June 26, 2005 Posted June 26, 2005 Nice catch by Cliffy for the catch.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted June 26, 2005 Posted June 26, 2005 As Benson walks the bases full, Mini Knight said, and I quote, "Fudge!"Damn - tie game on Cano's ground out.
Guest abogdan Guests Posted June 26, 2005 Posted June 26, 2005 Very nice play by Anderson to get an out and prevent more than one run from scoring.
Guest abogdan Guests Posted June 26, 2005 Posted June 26, 2005 Very nice catch by Beltran in the gap to end the inning. If we had their CF that would have been an easy triple. That inning could have been a lot worse. A couple of runs here would be very nice. 1-1.
Guest abogdan Guests Posted June 26, 2005 Posted June 26, 2005 I have no idea why I keep writing "very nice."
