Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 Vizcaino holding at first there was a pretty good indicator of Floyd's throwing prowess.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 I've seen just about enough of those P.O.S. Jose Vizcaino hits fall in against us thankyouverymuch
Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 Vizcaino and Berkman with none-out singles. Ensberg up.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 Arghhhh!!!Upon edit: Ensburg doubles.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 Well, here's to all those who want Bell to get all those important innings!
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 Shouldn't Vizcaino have followed Kent to LA by now?
Guest holychicken Guests Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 Ugh. This is either Kaz's or that damn squirrels fault!
Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 If this was the 'Give a spot to Danny Graves' audition, Bell passed.A decision like that should not be made based on a single outing, but it just might be this time.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 Well, this game turned to shit pretty quickly.
Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 Heilman looks good again while closing the proverbial barn door.
Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 2-3-4 to face Lidge down by three runs.
Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 Cameron fans on a fastball, but Beltran pulls a double past Berkman.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 I have no objection to Bell, just towards those idiot Met fans who pre-decide that they're going to divide the team into two camps: the chosen ones and the designated whipping boys.Heath - for the most part - has been one of the golden boys so he gets a pass on any and all mistakes. Kaz (plus others) on the other hand ...
Guest KC Guests Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 Jeez, Floyd just looked silly against Lidge. Missed strike two by a foot andand then half-checked on one that had no chance of ever seeing the strikezone.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 Lidge has some pretty sick stuff. We'll get 'em next time.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 Well, we can't keep getting 6 hits a night and expect to win.
Guest Rotblatt Guests Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 Floyd was seriously pressing. This was a terrible game for us. I'll give a pass on Qualls, Wheels & Lidge--they're all good pitchers--but there's just no excuse for not knocking the crap out of Springer. And there's no way Pettite should've kept us to 2 runs. Our offense is just flat right now. Piazza against a lefty instead of Castro would've helped a lot and we really need production out of our 1B slot. I think it's time to bring Daubach up. Send Mientkiewicz on the DL, give him a few at bats in AAA, keep Daubach around for interleague play, then either send him or Woody down at the end. We can do without Ring while Daubach & Mientkiewicz are both up, since we're not using him anyway. This game really pissed me off. We just lost a series to the second-worst team in the league, despite having our 1 & 2 pitchers going. Even despite our injuries, that's just inexcusable.sigh.Reason # 245 why we're not a playoff-bound team this year.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 We have a lousy offense.Stinky, life-ruining Mets.
Guest cooby Guests Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 Happy birthday tomorrow, Johnny. They'll win for you then!

Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted June 10, 2005 Posted June 10, 2005 Daubach really is a good idea right now. Some power off the bench would be nice.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2005 Posted June 10, 2005 the Mets have NEVER won a game on my birthday!...incidentally, i was born in January.
Guest Rotblatt Guests Posted June 10, 2005 Posted June 10, 2005 Now that I've slept on it, I think there are some good take-aways from last night. Hernandez, Heilman & Loopy continued to look good, and Wright finally got moved up in the order.Miraculously, the daily rags seem to have learned their lesson about our pen. All the papers say something to the effect of "Bell's been great this year but a few bloop singles and he gets another loss" and I haven't seen any calls for "we need to upgrade the pen NOW!" but some of that might have to do with the pending Graves acquisition. Our offense needs to get healthy. Cam, Floyd & Beltran all playing beat up with Piazza & Mientkiewicz not available off the bench is brutal. Where was Diaz last night, anyway? In one of the papers, Willie was quoted as saying that a bad outing by Ishii wouldn't get him moved to the pen, which I personally think is unfortunate, although with Glavine & Zambano doing as well as they have, our SP isn't as much of a problem as our offense right now. One of the other rags dissed on Matsu--again--basically saying that he must suck, since he keeps getting booed. WTF?]The rest of the shine on the six-hit Met offense last night was on Kaz Matsui's shoes, which left some polish on a ball that hit him in the foot to start a tying rally in the eighth. That clue, found by umpire Gerry Davis, seems to the only one Matsui has as he continues to get booed mercilessly, not that he is the only problem. Matsui over the series: 3-9, with 2 BB & a HBP. That's a BA of .300 & an OBP of .500, with no E. Our fans, and our beat writers, are fucking retards sometimes.
Guest cooby Guests Posted June 10, 2005 Posted June 10, 2005 ...incidentally, i was born in January. But I am a moon child, like Widey :(
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted June 10, 2005 Posted June 10, 2005 There have been very few Mets games played on my birthday. But the Mets beating the Giants on Benny Agbayani's walk off, extra inning homer in 2000 was a pretty good birthday present :)
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted June 10, 2005 Posted June 10, 2005 And, as I've mentioned before, that was a conception day for my daughter.
