Guest holychicken Guests Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 BOOO kaz! You scored! BOOO!!!Nothing too exciting. A squirrel tried to steal some food from the bird feeder (okay, it was food in the chicken coop, you got me) and I was trying to scare him off. I put down my beer right in it's path back up a tree and he knocked it over when I chased him off. I swear he intentionally batted it with his tail on the way back to the tree. . .the little bastard.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 Ensberg: GO 1-3 Lane: 1B to CF Everett: GO 6-3 w/the runner movingRunner on 2nd - 2 outs for Brad Ausmus: ... who flies to Cammy in RFTime for someone to be a hero (maybe it'll be one of the subs)
Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 Looper restores order, and it's Floyd, Wright and Woody Woodwoody for the win.
Guest holychicken Guests Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 I'll get them that feeder ONLY if it feeds them a knuckle sandwich or an electrode between the eyes.Good job, Looper. . . time for us to finish this off!
Guest cooby Guests Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 Nah, it's really quite charming.Btw, do you get many squirrels in your rundown apartment building?
Guest holychicken Guests Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 Actually, this was at my parents' house in house in westchester, not up in my student/real ghetto. Although, I did see a squirrel with a full bagel in it's mouth up here. That, I have to admit, was pretty cute.
Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 Floyd walks, and my daughter begins giggling as Wright steps to the plate.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 congrats, you are now my sig quote.and damn, i'd have killed that squirrel for doing that.

Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 Only without the Toni Tennille haircut.
Guest holychicken Guests Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 ]congrats, you are now my sig quote.nice.UU is pitching for philly right now. . .top of the ninth with a 4 run lead. They wasted no time.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 polanco is essentially a younger (i think?) miguel cairo. if they got urbina for that its a good move and i wish we could have done the same.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 Fonzie was one of my favorite Mets during his tenure with the team, but I don't really want him back. Wright should be the third baseman for many years to come at Shea. Fonzie at second wouldn't be pretty at this point in his career.
Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 ]polanco is essentially a younger (i think?) miguel cairo. if they got urbina for that its a good move and i wish we could have done the same.Done what? Traded Cairo for Urbina?
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 funny i've always thought of 3B as a much harder position. i know i can handle 2B with no problem but i embarass myself at 3B (longer throws, generally sharper hit balls.)
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 ]Done what? Traded Cairo for Urbina?well no, but a player of similiar value to polanco/cairo....Valent maybe?
Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 Bill James' Defensive Spectrum (from easiest to hardest)DH - 1B - LF - RF - 3B - CF - 2B - SS - C
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 Not much left on the bench for the Mets if this is a war of attrition. Can either Piazza or Mientkiewicz hit?
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 Third base is more about reflexes and arm strenghth. Second base is more about range and mobility. At this point in his career, I expect the Alfonzo's range at second base would be pretty limited.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 Floyd makes Lamb lie down (near) Broadway -- and we go to the 10th.
Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 Lamb lines one into the corner with two out, and a fine throw by Floyd, combined with a nice tag by Kaz nails him at second.BOO Kaz!!! You tagged him out!!! BOO!!!!!
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 Good throw.Good tag.Is it OK to credit Matsui there?
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 All right, let's kick this Springer guy's ass!!!!
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 Seems like Floyd has been doing a pretty good job defensively this year. I'm so glad the Mets weren't able to move him in a trade this off season.Time for the Mets to end this game with a run in the bottom of the 10th. Let's Go Mets!
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 That was, in fact, Cliffy's league leading 8th OF assist. That's often not a real good sign of OF throwing prowess but he is playing/moving much better this season
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 Generally, the best arms (Vlad, Ichiro, et al) get fewer opportunities for assists because runners seldom challenge them. I guess people don't respect Floyd's arm, but he's been doing a great job for the Mets this year.
