Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 8, 2025 Author Posted September 8, 2025 I understand that this is a shot from the aftermath of The Picture Day Kerfuffle in which Darryl went after Davey.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 8, 2025 Author Posted September 8, 2025 Who do you think Darling is giving the business to there? My guess is Terry Leach, with Sid Fernandez (?) taking advantage of the moment to kneel on Leach's calf and check his Pony cleats for any blow that might be stashed there.Dykstra, meanwhile appears to be looking for some contraband in Darling's back pocket.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2025 Posted September 8, 2025 Darryl went after Keith on Picture Day ... or at least one picture day. This doesn't look like that one though. I don't recall anyone being tackled, held-down or whatever. IIRC the two potential combatants were kept apart by whoever was near and everyone stayed on their feet. This one looks more like hi jinx.

You are at least partly right, and maybe mostly right. This Daily News story suggests it is a 1991 re-enactment of the 1989 fight. That jives with the "hi jinx" theory, but Lenny Dykstra was long gone by 1991, and that sure looks like him behind Darling.I guess that could be Cone wearing 44.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2025 Posted September 8, 2025 That definitely looks like Dykstra. And were the Mets still wearing the racing stripes in 1991?
