Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2025 Posted April 20, 2025 High school kids start a metal band, high volume hijinx ensue.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted April 26, 2025 Author Posted April 26, 2025 I can't believe none of you have watched this.I'm giving it 4 out of 5 headbangs. It's funny if not consistently so. The story is totally predictable, and parts of it are way too shaggy, but it really succeeds as a movie about friendship, especially if you've ever had that one friend who not a lot of other people liked. I had 2 friends like that in my life.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 27, 2025 Posted April 27, 2025 Better than, worse than, or comparable to Heavy Trip?
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2025 Author Posted April 28, 2025 This one isn't so ambitious or quixotic... it's a smaller movie about relationships with a metal framework.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2025 Posted April 28, 2025 It is on my list , should watch it this week
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted April 30, 2025 Posted April 30, 2025 Just finished it, we thoroughly enjoyed it, fun movie

whippoorwill Old-Timey Member Posted April 30, 2025 Posted April 30, 2025 That kid looks like a school shooter
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 4, 2025 Posted May 4, 2025 I approve of this film. I am surprising myself by going over 3 1/2 for a film of this genre, but it gets four bass drums from me. Every time it zigged along in a pleasing-enough-but-predictable pattern, it zagged off at the right time into some new territory.I like that they were able to reference Black Sabbath without playing "Paranoid" or "Iron Man," but instead played the hell out of "War Pigs" — not the obvious pick of the klassick rawk programmers but definitely the one that gets real metal heads going. They played it so much that it was hard to tell where "War Pigs" ended and their killer original "Machinery of Torment" began.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 24, 2025 Posted June 24, 2025 Watched this a second time tonight. Discovered this sweet couplet from battle-of-the-bands performance: Your prom king crown’s the first thing struck! Turned into a bucket of ****!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted November 17, 2025 Posted November 17, 2025 We just realized that lead/drummer/looks-like-a-school-shooter-according-to-cooby was also the "mastuhbatin' Nazi child" frm Knives Out[/i [fimg=500]https://m.media-amazon.com/images/M/MV5BZmU2OTJjODItN2RiNy00ZThlLThhYjUtZjhlNGY4NTlhODc1XkEyXkFqcGdeQWRpZWdtb25n._V1_.jpg[/fimg]
