whippoorwill Old-Timey Member Posted September 8 Posted September 8 Watched 9 to 5 tonight This came out when I was a very very young, (like 20 years old) newly married secretary whose boss would actually help me if I got a little behind on my work. Wasn’t exactly the same as I remember but still some giggles for hubby and me.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted September 17 Posted September 17 While it was all about the women, Dabney Coleman stole the movie. later
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted October 6 Posted October 6 We watched this recently also. There's no poll here, but I would give it whatever the midpoint is. It moves from one set piece to another, so you can hope that there is something better around the corner, and sometimes there is, but you find yourself doing a lot of hoping. Fantasy sequences in comedy films really don't do it for me. And after two of the lead actresses have a fantasy about dominocide, I was dreading the third.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted October 6 Posted October 6 I rewatched it shortly after Dolly Parton died. It was disappointing. I remembered it as being a better movie. It was like watching a mediocre sitcom. And I agree about the fantasy sequences, both in general and specifically to this film. Edgy MD 1
whippoorwill Old-Timey Member Posted October 8 Author Posted October 8 I also remember it differently. That’s strange that some of us do. There was just a lot of stuff I didn’t remember, and a lot of stuff I remember differently Edgy MD 1
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted October 9 Posted October 9 "Funny—but one scene made me mad. A truly funny scene if the 3 gals had played getting drunk but no they had to get stoned on pot. It was an endorsement of Pot smoking for any young person who sees the picture." — Ronald Reagan, to his personal diary February 14, 1981
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted October 9 Posted October 9 Far better to endorse kids getting drunk! whippoorwill and MFS62 2
