Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted September 7 Posted September 7 This actually happened a few days ago. The Mets selected pitcher Cameron Weston off waivers from the Orioles. A former 8th round pick, he made a single appearance this year -- it was his debut -- and tossed a scoreless inning. For his minor league career, he is 18-24 with a 4.35 ERA in 106 games (54 starts). At Triple-A, he is 6-13 with a 5.44 ERA in 61 games (33 starts). His career K/9 is 10.0. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2026/09/mets-claim-cameron-weston.html

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted Friday at 03:28 PM Posted Friday at 03:28 PM Following three scoreless Syracuse appearances that were as much as one could ask (4 1/3 innings, one hit, one walk, eight strikeouts) Cameron Weston has been asked to join the proper, big-league version of the Mets. No known relation to Mickey Weston, thought they both came up as Orioles.

seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted Friday at 04:39 PM Posted Friday at 04:39 PM So we now have *two* potential new Mets on the roster (Weston and Cairo). If they both get into games, that will make 2026 the third-most newMetliest season ever. 1962: 45 new Mets (obviously) 2021: 42 1967: 35 2025: 35 2023: 34 2024: 34 2026: 34 I'd be very curious to see if other MLB clubs have a similar situation, where they've used more *new* players in the last few years than ever before.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted Friday at 04:56 PM Posted Friday at 04:56 PM One side effect of this roster churn is that we have had so many forgettable guys. Adding Cameron Weston to my list, Google Sheets tried to auto-fill it with "Cameron Maybin," and I was like "Maybin's never been a Met." Sure enough, 2021. And he got more ABs than Johneshwy Fargas, Khalil Lee, Wilfredo Tovar, Chance Sicso, and Jake Hager, all of whom I *do* remember as Mets. Weird. MFS62 1
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago Westone goes west, and north, to rejoin Syracuse with the activation of C&L Perez from the LIST OF THE INJURED.
