Mets are currently winging it to Miami (well, they're probably going to shower and change first ... but soon, trust me on this one) so as to make it in time for Monday's 1:10 Labor Day first pitch.

Eury Perez -- that 6' 15" guy (with the supposedly pint-sized parents) that we never seem to hit -- gets the start for Miami. This will be the third time we'll see him in 2026 with NYM bats slashing a non-impressive .119/.153/.190 off of him over the first two [a 2 - 1 Marlins win and a 4 - 2 Mets win]. For the good guys it'll be Jonah Tong!!!!! making his first start and fourth game of 2026. Last time we saw him was June 2nd when he was coughing up 4 runs in 3 innings in Seattle (so most of us probably didn't see it).

Only as a third thought did anybody mention Keith.  Did they not watch the Mets?  Carter — when he was good — batted behind Keith, day in and day out.
