Marshmallowmilkshake Old-Timey Member Posted August 23 Posted August 23 I’m here! My last chance to see the Mets in person this year. It didn’t go well in Pittsburgh. whippoorwill 1
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 23 Posted August 23 Erick Fedde will be the primary thrower for the White Sox Luis Robert Jr met my call for revenge yesterday and I hope he can do it again

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 23 Posted August 23 Do you want to tell him that there's only three Ms in MarsmallowMilkshake or should I? Met bats rattle the Sox' opener ... but they didn't nuke 'im.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 23 Posted August 23 The Mets strategy of load-'em-up-and-go-after-Benintendi may not be sustainable, but it's working for now.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 23 Posted August 23 Ron speaking about Jim Crow Laws and The Great Migration. Not the sort of frank talk that you tend to hear on a broadcast. And as he does it, Luis Robert pulls one off the top of the fence. And then Ron endorses The Warmth of Other Suns.
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted August 23 Posted August 23 This is a bit of a snore fest! The game, not the thread....
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 23 Posted August 23 Proceeding a lot more economically than last night anyhow. And a lot cleaner than the last DGaaNG.
Marshmallowmilkshake Old-Timey Member Posted August 23 Posted August 23 Thank you! Mets need some runs. The Hero of the Game is sitting near me. Really nice guy! whippoorwill 1
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 23 Posted August 23 Leadoff double over Antonacci's headonacci, and now we can get McLoon a lead before pulling him.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 23 Posted August 23 Lefty in to face Youngkin, and they probably have to leave him in.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 23 Posted August 23 Young should have bunted, it seems. Alvarez should have challenged. Possibly multiple times.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 23 Posted August 23 Met announcers -- All of them! -- need to stop citing RiSP stats as if they're a reliable indicator of future prowess.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 23 Posted August 23 A rare less-than-perfect throw to 2nd by Torrens allows the inning to continue.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 23 Posted August 23 It's possible that all three called strikes to Alvarez were actually not in the zone, but then again, all three of them might have been. The guy can paint.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 23 Posted August 23 Then again, after 3-0 count, Lindor went chasing two very obvious balls with weak swings.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 23 Posted August 23 Yeah, that 3-0 hack by Lindor was both stupid and lame. He's slumping as much as Alvarez and Ewing lately (although probably not for as long). In addition to over-citing RiSP stats, our announcers are over-doing the 'Mets offense has been great lately' idea. It's been great compared to where it had been all season, but has been merely somewhat above average for the month of August [90 RS in 19 games (not including this one) for a 4.7 RS/G avg]. So good, though hardly en Fuego.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 23 Posted August 23 Damn, if Benge played that off the wall clean, that run doesn't score.
