Christian Scott faces Tanner Bibee (Pronounced BUY-bee, btw, so as to not be confused with Jim Bibby, Shane Bieber, Tanner Roark, or Chuck Tanner). Mr Bibee (R/R) is toting around a 4 - 11 record despite a solidly respectable 3.81 ERA and 1.15 WHIP

Again a 6:40 first pitch and, as always, those who are late do not get fruit cup.

Brett Baty back in the lineup and Marcus Semien bounced down to the nine-hole.

I know a Pat Bailey, but I doubt she's the one catching for Cleveland tonight.

Big trouble in the fifth, and there may not be as much left in the tanque to escape from this.

Ewing has grest speed, but he still seems to be learning to read balls off the bat.  He takes a few too many bad first steps or indirect routes on fly balls.  He will get it with experience.  The Mets just need to give Ewing as many reps as possible, because he (not Robert Jr) is the Mets CF of the future.

It's getting embarrassing when Keith responds to Gary by repeating what Gary said, as if he caught the subject, but wasn't paying attention enough to pick up the full thought.

GARY: "As it happens, Ohtani and Crow-Armstrong are the leading candidates for the MVP."

KEITH: "Well, Pete Crow-Armstrong is really putting himself in MVP consideration."

He got saved that time by Benge hitting a homer.

I thought he was gonna blow it. Then they'd force him to stay out there so he could take Yan for the team. But he pulled it out.

Just by chance, I heard Warren Zevon's 'Excitable Boy' on the car radio today (first time in a LONG time) ... and now I know why. It was to introduce me to Jefry Yan.

Yan has a good arm.  He needs to concentrate on completing his pitches rather than worrying about his strike out celebration.  At least twice in that inning he leaped in the air anticipating the K on a 2 strike pitch.  One of them was hit on the ground and he was in no position to field or cover first base had he needed to.  I can see that costing him in the future.

Still kind of early, but they probably ought to get Baty out of left after that trip to the plate.

This Craig Yoho guy needs to be on a team with Mike Laga and John Jaha. And then maybe they can have Lady Gaga sing the national anthem.

They pulled him, but instead of sending in Robert, they went for Christian Pache.

Mets debuts are breaking out all over!
