ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2025 Posted August 25, 2025 Senga work the first batter in the 5th inning to a 3-2 count and hits himReally?

ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2025 Posted August 25, 2025 The mikes are bolted in. Get over it, geez
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2025 Posted August 25, 2025 Between the 3rd base coach's hold on Marsh's double to RF, and then Harper cutting off the throw from RF (and/or not relaying it) the Phils may have gifted us two runs [negative one on their side of the ledger and a +1 on ours]
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2025 Posted August 25, 2025 Senga: 92 pitches to get 12 outs, more than 50% higher than what you'd like to see.92 is a decent total for six full innings, not four plus one batter.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 25, 2025 Posted August 25, 2025 I had tuned out for dinner, and then tuned back in to see that equipment delay, and after 20 minutes, I still have no idea what precipitated it.It was fascinating theater of the absurd. Two teams, four umpires, all walking around the field, shrugging at each other and occasionally pointing.

Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2025 Posted August 25, 2025 It would be awesome to have a finish to 2025 like we had in 2024 (hopefully with a WS ring at the end).
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2025 Posted August 25, 2025 So glad to see Vientos hitting again. I guess this is a thing these days. I saw Michael Harris was having a similar resurgence in Atlanta.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2025 Posted August 25, 2025 I was wondering why Castillo wasn't starting the 6th with a lefty batter up. But between the lengthy warm-up time he had in the pen and that ridiculous 14 minute delay for Mic-Gate, to bring him back would have been after his third up-down despite pitching to just two batters. At least that was Luis Rojas's explanation for why Rogers started the inning.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 25, 2025 Posted August 25, 2025 McNeil does not need to be bunting. He can advance the runner by grounding to the right.

ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2025 Posted August 25, 2025 This could be a turning point win. Some unlikely heroes tonight
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2025 Posted August 25, 2025 Vientos doesn't seem like he's even the same player. Completely different hitter.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2025 Posted August 25, 2025 2:20 just to get through 6 innings.Of course Mic-Gate had a lot to do with that, but it's been slow otherwise. First because Senga was all over the place and then Sanchez was later.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 25, 2025 Posted August 25, 2025 It has been all Mets since Micgate, though.Micgate is the new Grimace!
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2025 Posted August 25, 2025 I see Ryan Helsley warming upI hope Vientos doesn't miss any time
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2025 Posted August 25, 2025 I agree with the hold at 3rd. LF was very shallow when he got to that.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 25, 2025 Posted August 25, 2025 I was just thinking that the Mets have done all of this without the longball.I just checked the scoreboard, and not only did the Mets just go up 10-3, but the Phillies just fell behind by the same amount.
