ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2025 Posted August 20, 2025 Josh Bell is too fat to make the play
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2025 Posted August 20, 2025 =Centerfield post_id=201823 time=1755733279 user_id=65]This game feels like a loss. All the breaks going against us.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 20, 2025 Author Posted August 20, 2025 Dom Smith would have picked that.Nathaniel Lowe would have picked that.Nick Johnson would have picked that.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 20, 2025 Author Posted August 20, 2025 Mets sure getting breaks now.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2025 Posted August 20, 2025 Missed all the runs. Sat back down to watch Mullins fly out and Torrens ground out. I suck.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2025 Posted August 20, 2025 Mullins and Torrens gassed what had been a very good inning
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2025 Posted August 20, 2025 I've seen enough of Mullins. Let's call up Jett.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2025 Posted August 20, 2025 And another 5 inning start by a NYM pitcher.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 20, 2025 Author Posted August 20, 2025 Tylor Rogers coming in and inducing a double-play is back on brand.

Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2025 Posted August 20, 2025 Let's beat up fat lefty Masato Yoshii.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 20, 2025 Author Posted August 20, 2025 Let's go wild in the streets.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 20, 2025 Author Posted August 20, 2025 It takes two Sotos to retire Josh Bell in a pinch.Let's go to town.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2025 Posted August 20, 2025 I shouldn't have come back. The Mets have never won a game this year that they trailed after 8.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2025 Posted August 20, 2025 Score four to close to within one, load the bases with one out ... and the next eight batters go down in order.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 20, 2025 Author Posted August 20, 2025 Since they failed to tied the game with Mullins and Torrens, they haven't gotten anybody on, against what generally has been a very generous pen.Ronny Mauricio is possibly letting everybody know he could have pinch-hit there.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2025 Posted August 20, 2025 Or he may PH this coming inning: Baty, Mullins, Torrens due up in the 9th.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 20, 2025 Author Posted August 20, 2025 Cannot let Torrens bat here.Go with Mauricio and hopefully stay out of the double-play.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2025 Posted August 20, 2025 Tough call on hitting Mauricio against a lefty. I guess Taylor could hit for Torrens but not sure that's any movement.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2025 Posted August 20, 2025 So far 20 (to get two outs), 10, and 9 pitches from the Nats pen to get eight outs.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2025 Posted August 20, 2025 They're challenging but that's just a formality.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2025 Posted August 20, 2025 Why is Torrens hitting!!!Mendoza is exasperating
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 20, 2025 Author Posted August 20, 2025 Taylor might at least have helped keep you out of a dp.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2025 Posted August 20, 2025 Not a lot of great decisions by Mendoza lately.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2025 Posted August 20, 2025 He's more part of the problem than the solution
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2025 Posted August 20, 2025 Torrens should have taken a strike.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 20, 2025 Author Posted August 20, 2025 Would you all have gone to Taylor?I probably would have, but he has barely seen any live pitching over the last three weeks. And, obviously, that is a result of him having a very bad season at the plate. So, in fairness, there were no great options at the end.
