Three straight come-from-behind wins for the Mets is exciting, but a decisive pole-to-pole win would go a long way toward shaking the Anaheimers of any illusions of contention. Lefties Brock Burke and Sean Manea take the mound, and hopefully the latter will be liberated a little from his short leash.



Also notable is old buddy Travis d'Arnaud behind the plate in Angelic garb.

So far the Angels have done all they can to gift wrap the games with sloppy defense and questionable base running. It would be nice to just go out and take a game without need for the opposition to gift them runs. I'm fine with the gifts, I just want to see the offense start clicking again. Lindor and Alonso need to get off the skids and start hitting again.

Seriously?

This is the criticism I had last year. The manager doesn't let players who may be (or who are, as in the case of Alvarez) stay in the lineup.

And it would be nice to see Alvarez in there against a lefty pitcher.

So many infielders now move to play the ball to the side rather than play the ball in front of them. I'm "old school" like Keith, I was taught to get in front of any ball you could, so that even if you didn't field it cleanly you could knock it down and still make the play.



The Ole play by Baty has helped to set up this inning for the Angels.*





*I don't know how to make the acute accent on the e of ole.
