Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2025 Posted July 2, 2025 No one wants to start this IGT but, dammit, somebody's got to so I'll take the bullet. We've scored just six runs combined in the last four games but at least we don't have to go up against the hottest rookie in all of baseball ... oh wait, we do.Jacob Misiorowski (RH), all 6' 7" of him, has three ML starts under his belt (16 innings total) and has allowed just two runs on three hits! He's walked seven but four of those were in his first game so just three since. The Mets, meanwhile,, counter with ... well everyone. Brazoban will start then a series of guys who have been lit up recently will try to cover the next 8 innings without embarrassing the franchise. I'm betting heavily on embarrassment. And speaking of betting. I was able to get down a steal of a bet today when I wagered my entire life savings on the US Men's soccer team scoring more often vs Guatemala tonight (in the semi-finals of some recently invented 'Cup' thing) than do the Mets.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2025 Posted July 2, 2025 Brazoban still has pretty good overall stats. So maybe it's possible he regains his form. But check out these numbers.ERA in June: 13.50ERA last 15 days: 24.75ERA this past week: 108.00He's walked ten batters and given up five hits over his last 4 IP. That's a WHIP of 3.75.In his last 12 appearances dating back to May 23, he's been scored upon in 7 of those appearances. So yeah, this guy's been lost for over a month.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2025 Author Posted July 2, 2025 Told ya this was going to be a good game.Ignore that opening post under my name. That wasn't me ... I was hacked. Now we just needa) the staff not to have any blow up innings as has been a virtual daily occurrence lately. the offense not to go into shut-down mode now that they've got a cushion
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 2, 2025 Posted July 2, 2025 My name is Edgy and I was 99% sure that the park was going to hold Nimmo's shot.Possibly more than that.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2025 Author Posted July 2, 2025 Three walks in a nine batter span is not the preferred method for avoiding big innings.

Also wasn't totally sold on Lindor's shot.I didn't see if Francisco and Brandon hugged after Lindor's HR but, if they did, they would have literally gone back-to-back and belly-to-belly.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2025 Author Posted July 2, 2025 Two 3-1 groundouts that inning and np pitchers were injured in either of them.(I'll take signs of progress wherever I can find them)
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 2, 2025 Posted July 2, 2025 They play a doubleheader with a four-man bench, and they still can't throw a start to Jankowski.Desperate times.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2025 Author Posted July 2, 2025 A quickie interweb search suggests that the name Yoho is from the 17th century American frontier and possibly derived from the Germn/Swiss Johann.
Bob Alpacadaca Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2025 Posted July 2, 2025 Time to get Blade out of there.
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2025 Posted July 2, 2025 Poor tidings for Tiidwell in the 6th.
batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2025 Posted July 2, 2025 Stupid, fucking Mets. They took a five run 5-0 lead. How the hell are they supposed to come from behind now? How? What a shitball of a team this is.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2025 Author Posted July 2, 2025 And suddenly the tying run is at the plate with one out.

Because any runs the Mets score while they're already ahead don't fucking count. We don't want no hitters that get hits with the Mets already leading. And what did the KC Chiefs do today? Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2025 Posted July 2, 2025 On the bright side. Would have killed for 5-3 given this pitching matchup.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 2, 2025 Posted July 2, 2025 Is tonight Puerto Rican Night? I am just now noticing the high number of flags and flag-themed garments.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2025 Posted July 2, 2025 SOTOBOOMI believe Soto F=7'd...The play by play I was following called it a homer. I can't see the game.But there was a LINDORBOOM.Later

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2025 Author Posted July 2, 2025 Ball one was a better pitch than strike one.Wonder if Carlos's bellyaching on the first pitch bought him a call there on the second.
