Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2025 Posted June 1, 2025 Clay Holmes and the Mets look to complete the sweep. I am optimistic.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 1, 2025 Posted June 1, 2025 Please don't tell The Mets that.Nothing is a walk in the park.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2025 Posted June 1, 2025 They'll be fine. I have Kahnfidence!!
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2025 Posted June 1, 2025 Baty in the lineup against a lefty. I support this.
Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2025 Posted June 1, 2025 The score should be 12-0 Mets by now.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 1, 2025 Posted June 1, 2025 What we get is five whiffs in the first six batters. You've got to temper those expectorations.
Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2025 Posted June 1, 2025 And now it's 1-0 Rockies! The Mets are on track to never score again!(are we still doing that?)
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 1, 2025 Posted June 1, 2025 Those 4's on everybody's uniforms are wrong. The Yankees and MLB distribute merchandise with that thick font on the number, with the big, square serif on the bottom. The Lou that we are today called on to celebrate wore a 4 set in a thinner font with no serifs.[FIMG=350]https://www.christies.com/img/LotImages/2020/NYR/2020_NYR_19475_0046_001(important_1931_lou_gehrig_new_york_yankees_professional_model_home_jer051045).jpg[/FIMG]Please get these things right, baseball!
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2025 Posted June 1, 2025 Really? One hit through the three? Come on Mets.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 1, 2025 Posted June 1, 2025 The call that the Rocks didn't get — the payoff pitch to Marte — may have been a strike and set up the three-run homer. But they then got a called strike three against Baty that was definitely not a strike.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2025 Posted June 1, 2025 OK, Gary ... NOW it's a 4-3 Mets lead!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 1, 2025 Posted June 1, 2025 The reason Soto is the one you commit all your resources to is that, even when his shit isn't working, his slump-proof walk tool is still providing value. That used to be true of Nimmo as well, and I hope it will be again.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 1, 2025 Posted June 1, 2025 OK, a coupla things:Dracula is certainly not the only novel Bram Stoker wrote.Gone with the Wind ain't that great.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 1, 2025 Posted June 1, 2025 Keith is conflating Bram Stoker with Mary Shelley, and Gary is conflating Dracula with Count von Count.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2025 Posted June 1, 2025 I prefer Count Chocula and Frankenberry
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 1, 2025 Posted June 1, 2025 Clay Homey has pitched the longest game of his career.A problem with being Luisangel Acuña is that teams don't have to have a scouting report on you. They just hear your name and assume that you are too fast to sleep on.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2025 Posted June 1, 2025 Reed Garrett sure gets a lot of work
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2025 Posted June 1, 2025 Some insurance would be real nice here.We can't count on Diaz to throw up zeroes forever.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 1, 2025 Posted June 1, 2025 Fun game — see if you can tell which one is Reed Garrett and which one is Vincent Van Gogh![FIMG=200]https://uploads5.wikiart.org/images/vincent-van-gogh/self-portrait-1887.jpg[/FIMG] [fimg=243]https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibldWHVkd9VwHwRuRwLxIVsnhmNcTUMqfy84I67yljdMxzukK7Il9G4byUhDHikozFI7yUcQycoobQJR3PxGO_STDKrFdSOWxNS92C5iDofXo4b0r-K-Wk78UhH6xJ06VqP8ah3KGMb7aKJj8hfGpkL6slV_M861AGbVug_X7qY8-IGhuiGaqTYzZGiNmj/s595/reed%20garrett1.JPG[/fimg]
