Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 30, 2025 Posted May 30, 2025 Álvy is still carrying the game on defense, but he is almost swinging like he wants to get demoted.
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2025 Posted May 30, 2025 As a top prospect, the talk was all about his bat and the question was whether he could handle the defensive load at catcher. His defense is far better than anticipated, but the league has adjusted to him and he just seems lost at the plate. He needs to make an adjustment. Otherwise, the Mets may need to give more playing time to Torrens. He is very good defensively and I have more faith in Torrens (than I do Alvarez) at the plate.
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2025 Posted May 30, 2025 Lindor with his second HR to give some insurance.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2025 Posted May 30, 2025 It's obviously a HR but the stadium can't be hitting the light show so quickly.Do it right or don't do it at all. Better yet, don't do it at all.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 30, 2025 Posted May 30, 2025 Lindor working it from both sides of the plate tonight.Amazing that the umpires are the only ones who saw it that missed it clearing the fence, but these stupid confusions can be ended — along with adding more exciting opportunities for catches — if they just move that railing back two feet.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2025 Posted May 30, 2025 I think stiletto-type spikes on those rails which would impale any ball that clears the fence would end most ambiguities.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 30, 2025 Posted May 30, 2025 Diaz has really pitched the equivalent of a 10-inning no-hitter?
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2025 Posted May 30, 2025 Diaz was lights out to preserve the win.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2025 Posted May 30, 2025 Two more, please, and maybe build up a bigger lead in the late innings, okay?
