Aren't the Mets just going with an ordinary Quintana start?

Yes ... but I had spotty net service so didn't try to look it up, and the day before the ASB is traditionally a (partial) all hands on deck situation. So if Q is shakey early on ...

I've been surprised by Mendoza occasionally but I doubt he does anything different than he would for an ordinary game.

Houser hasn't pitched in 6 days so he's very likely to pitch no matter what. Diaz, Maton, Diekman would all be ready as part of ordinary course usage patterns.

I'm certainly looking forward to a Severino relief appearance.

If Manfred hadn't ruined extra innings, that could've still been on the table.

Nice lineup

Maybe the DH tag is less stressful for Pete today

German Marquez has not pitched in about a year and a half

Would Severino to get some work today. Heck, I thought he was all star worthy

Germán Márquez has been around since 2016.

He pitched a few games in the minors this year. He was 0-4 with an ERA over 7.

So, I'm naturally afraid.

Germán Márquez has been the best Rockies starting pitcher from the last decade. His 2023 ended after four starts with UCL surgery, and the Rockies still loved him enough to sign him to a two-year deal this offseason. This is his first MLB game back from surgery so good or bad, his work day is likely to be short.

Thunder, lightning, and a lot of rain in North Jersey right now. Not sure which way that is headed...

Booth talked about Jason Bay's experience at Citified just being the wrong ballpark at the wrong time for him

30 years earlier I remember Bobby Murcer leaving the short porch at Yankees stadium for the cold winds of Candlestick Park in San Francisco and and being fortunate to homer 10 times

Márquez is suddenly beating himself.

And then Bader pops up the first pith with the bags juiced. Boo on that, but one more chance.

Justin Lawrence has a sweet slider. Sure looks good for a guy with nearly a six ERA.

The Rockies must be so hard to scout.
