Let's talk about Manuel Margot

I'll admit it... I've never heard of this guy. His name is completely unfamiliar to me. But Joel Sherman (one of Ceetar's favorites, as I recall) says that both the Mets and Yankees are interested in him. He sounds like he'd be a fourth outfielder type.

Margot is one of those guys who underwhelms big expectations as a prospect and takes 5-6 years to get his game together. He's no superstar

He brings a strong beard game. He strikes me as having a lot of testosterone. The fifth outfielder that you almost forget about and then becomes unforgettably devastating in an extra-inning attrition battle or terrifying in a bench-clearing brawl.

He's 29, so it seems his 5-6 years are up.

He had a .686 OBP with four homers, and his salary is $10 million this year and $12 million option for next.

That's a lot of money for bupkis.

Of course, it he signs with the MFYs he will become another Paul O'Neil.
