Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 17, 2023 Posted August 17, 2023 The Gott-as-stopper experiment is getting tenuous.
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2023 Author Posted August 17, 2023 Too much drama with two outs...
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2023 Posted August 17, 2023 Goldschmidt as the winning run.Just sayin'.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 17, 2023 Posted August 17, 2023 The Diamondbacks are playing the Padres tonight, so hey, we're gonna gain on somebody.Having a lot of teams in front of you has upsides like that.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 18, 2023 Posted August 18, 2023 That's terrific.Pretty much literally, in fact.

G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2023 Posted August 18, 2023 Clarification on the Three Met Firsts: a closer examination of game logs indicates Seaver was the first *starter* to be part of such a trio. On April 13, 1967, in Tom's first game (ND), another threesome put up their Met firsts, with Jerry Buchek homering, Ron Taylor recording the save and Chuck Estrada getting his first (and only) Met win, in relief of Seaver. This addition underscores that when a Tom Seaver comes along, attention must be paid.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 18, 2023 Posted August 18, 2023 That also may or may not be the second game with the toothpaste white outfield walls. Possibly the last also.
