And with Tim Locastro's first Met home run, a trifecta of those particular Met firsts — W, S, HR — took place in the same game (per my attentive if not double-confirmed scanning of Baseball-Reference) for only the second time in franchise history.



The first was on April 20, 1967: first Met home run for Tommy Davis, first Met save for Don Shaw and first win for…Tom Seaver.

Clarification on the Three Met Firsts: a closer examination of game logs indicates Seaver was the first *starter* to be part of such a trio. On April 13, 1967, in Tom's first game (ND), another threesome put up their Met firsts, with Jerry Buchek homering, Ron Taylor recording the save and Chuck Estrada getting his first (and only) Met win, in relief of Seaver.



This addition underscores that when a Tom Seaver comes along, attention must be paid.
