Reyes had been taken off the 40 man in July

Can't say I know much about him but the ERA says 6.50

Reyes was perhaps the hottest pitcher with Syracuse, coming off a seven-inning/one-run performance against Worcester. He pitches to contact — low hit numbers, but low strikeout numbers. He goes deep into games because of this, but tends to give up that one three-run homer that undermines his effort, so it's better to get him out one batter early than one batter late, but in a double-header, that may not be workable.

It would be a nice shot in the arm and give me some Kahnfidence with a Denyi Reyes quality start here

Anyone but Stewart could have caught that

Judging from the last few days, I wouldn't have had a whole lot of confidence in Abrhaham Almonte or Rafael Ortega either.

If Vogie danced away from that pitch that hit him, maybe that ball rattles around and the Mets score a goofy run.

Instead we make an early move toward matching yesterday's LoB numbers.

Ooooh look, more pop-ups, Ks, and balls not leaving the infield. But at least the defense is making up for it by allowing catchable balls to fall in for hits on a regular basis.

The story of this game is the Braves running on Almonte's wing.

The other story besides exploiting Almonte's arm is exploiting Stewart's range.

This could be the single worst OF in the history of MLB

The Braves have 5 runs in 4 innings and have hit virtually nothing hard ... which is more or less what they did last night too.

OTOH, the Mets are hitless through 4.

As I type that, Vogie gets a scratch single.

Preventing against doubles lets a lot of singles drop in. But this outfield doesn't discriminate. They let everything drop in. But, to paraphrase Dick Young, "While on one hand they can't field, on the other hand, they can't hit either".
