Yes there's a game today. I thought it might be canceled due to a lack of interest but apparently they've going to make 'em play it.

Giants are a weird team. They stumbled after those trio of championships and wrung up losing seasons from 2017 thru 2020 (hey, it happens).

But they then followed that with a stunning 107-win season in 2021 (albeit w/playoff failure) only to plummet back to 81-81 last year.

This year they again looked mediocre at best in April (11-16) but have gone 34-20 since including 17-8 in June while of course we're heading

in the opposite direction.

Mets split a four game series out there in April you may recall (NYM won first two, SFG the final pair) but that was before we decided to vie

for worst team in baseball honors.

Alex Cobb [RH, 5-2, 3.09, 1.37] in 14 starts (is just coming off the IL) faces Carlos Carrasco [less good numbers]

JD Davis likely to play, Michael Conforto more iffy.

I think this is my first IGT of the season and my overall record with the IGTs at the CPF is approximately 4 - 167 (unofficial total) so

have a discussion among yourselves as to who starts tomorrow's thread cuz it's unlikely to be me.

What could be more Joon Swoon than the top 2nd there?

- miss the inning ending GIDP by about 4 inches

- then go two-out H -- RBI H -- BB ... before finally getting out of it

Canha's awesome.

I just spent the first inning or so watching the end of The Seven Samurai, and the last few innings on the phone with MLB.tv, who often inexplicably block me whenever the Mets play San Francisco Bay-area teams.

What'd I miss?

Unlike the previous drive, I knew that one had enough to get out having seen enough Wilmer shots over the years which always seem to stay up forever.

Conforto may have thought he'd be a Met his whole career, but he also chose to play out his walk year and reject the qualifying offer.
