Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2023 Posted June 1, 2023 x-Met Taijuan Walker (4-2, 5.57) opposes Max Scherzer (4-2, 3.54) in a 1:10 pm start on a very nice day in NYC. I'll miss most of this of course.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 1, 2023 Posted June 1, 2023 It's your sweep to finish. Good work so far.

Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2023 Posted June 1, 2023 I'm always torn on these weekday matinees. Do I attempt to follow it while also working, or listen on XM on my phone in real time? Or do I ignore all social media and watch an SNY replay this evening? I have so many errands I could otherwise be doing tonight, but of course none of them are as enjoyable as watching a Mets game.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2023 Posted June 1, 2023 Tom McCarthy and Ben Davis whined about Lindor's throw to 1st on the DP yesterday. Tom McCarthy stunk as a Mets announcer, is a lousy football announcer, and his son works for the Mets (so he's a nepo-announcer). He should STFU and concentrate on using words with few syllables so Phillies' fans can understand what he is saying.https://twitter.com/diaryofgibby/status/1664084350751633410
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 1, 2023 Posted June 1, 2023 Scherzer fell asleep on that double steal. I could see in Turner's eyes that he was running.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 1, 2023 Posted June 1, 2023 Did Keef just say, "He who laughs last, laughs last"?The man ain't been too sharp this series.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 1, 2023 Posted June 1, 2023 Walker is laboring. Seems like he's seven innings into his start.Interesting to see Álvarez batting ninth again.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2023 Posted June 1, 2023 It is pretty warm out. Maybe Walker is feeling thatMax looks real good here, horse mode
vtmet7 Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2023 Posted June 1, 2023 getting really sick of seeing Voglebus in the lineup...I think that I have more faith in Nido getting an RBI with a runner on 2nd, then I have confidence that Voglebus will drive in the runner...
vtmet7 Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2023 Posted June 1, 2023 I am sure that this has been discussed before but...I really don't like all the betting information that SNY and MLB Network supply during the games, highlight shows and pre/post game shows...Shoeless Joe must be rolling over in his grave when he hears it...
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2023 Posted June 1, 2023 Wheels are turningWalker is not long for this gameWalker looks lighter than I remember him
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 1, 2023 Posted June 1, 2023 Nice to see McNeil mcbreak through. It would be nice to run Walker, but I don't know. Waiting him out certainly works. I hope they are patient enough.
vtmet7 Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2023 Posted June 1, 2023 pete could have bunted for a hit and RBI with how much room was between the 1B/2B...but he whiffs against a groundball pitcher that doesn't get a lot of swings and misses...
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2023 Posted June 1, 2023 Hey! Jose Quintana sighting working his way back in the bullpen
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2023 Posted June 1, 2023 If Vogelbach doesn't walk he's almost worthless at the moment.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2023 Posted June 1, 2023 What if Vogelbach doesn't walk and homers?
