Yes , I should have phrased it as a German adaptation of the book and not a remake, with German actors etc. The original movie ( 1930) was banned in Germany, and some other countries

Oh , I don't , German with subtitles, I believe way back when I had to enable "original" language as Netflix uses dubbing.



In Ireland many people would speak Gaelic and English, having said that most of us are not fluent in Gaelic. I would think depending on where in Europe you are you *might speak more than one language, but it's hardly the norm.

It would be so interesting to have the very next area speaking a different language, for instance if every state did

I've found that many people in Europe speak two languages... The language of whatever country they live in... and English. (More common in younger people, who've been learning English in school.)
