Thanks for all your great work.

Could Bench Player of the Year regain some of its past relevance by including designated hitters? I'm spitballing, clearly.

Fun stuff, as always! Love the Diaz card. Ruf winning an award for anything in

2022 seems a bit of an anomaly to me. Have to chew on that a bit.

But I have all those unused SAS airline miles.

Now I'll have to take my wife somewhere.

I thought about making it be for players who start fewer than half the games, but they would accumulate points even in the games that they did start. But I'm not going to actually make any changes. Schaefer survives because of the minimal effort required since I've automated it. I'm not inclined to invest any time in modifying the code that's in place.

The Bench Award serves, I guess, to inspire baseball cards for guys who ordinarily wouldn't have gotten one, like Ruf and Gore and Lee etc.

Here's to Darin Ruf, a dreadful designated hitter ostensibly for the pitcher, parlaying his one outing as a pitcher into an award that probably had Luis Guillorme written all over it in theory.

Here's to Grimm ostensibly doing his least, yet delivering what long ago might have been described as "the most!"

Nice job, Pete and Edwin, too. And good going, Chris, staying healthy in a year when Jake and Max missed significant time.

I voted as McOften as I could. I feel I had something close to a 100% rate going into the last quarter of the season, but I shlubbed it up from there.

I salute our worthy winners. I personally would have Lindor as our player-guy and Scherzer as our pitcher-guy. Francisco's 161 games played (including 159 starts at shortstop) and the regular high defensive standard he brought made him unparalleled as a wire-to-wire performer.

Yeah, the Ruf award definitely needs an asterisk. And here I was thinking the joke points I gave him for his pitching performance wouldn't matter in the end.
