Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 26, 2022 Posted September 26, 2022 I would actually be of a mind to tune in to a few innings of the MFY game, except, of course, I cannot, because of the MLB blackout. The irony is striking to me -- the NY Giants are on and they make it a point to ensure that fans in the geographic vicinity can watch a game otherwise only available to ESPN subscribers. It's basically the antithesis of the MLB rules.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2022 Author Posted September 27, 2022 Not quite an equivalent situation as there aren't any local/regional channels carrying NFL games
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2022 Posted September 27, 2022 Braves have tied it at 2
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2022 Posted September 30, 2022 Mariners won on a pinch hit walk-off homer and clinched a wild card. (Toronto and Tampa also clinched). Toronto up 1.5 for #4 seed but has the tiebreaker over neither.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted October 1, 2022 Posted October 1, 2022 Baseball's longest post-season drought, over.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2022 Author Posted October 1, 2022 Not just longest in MLB but longest in MLB/NFL/NBA/NHL.Of course in some of those leagues making the playoffs is only slightly harder than making the phone book, so not necessarily an equal comparison.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2022 Posted October 3, 2022 Albert Pujols, up to 703 HRs, has passed Babe Ruth for second in career RBIs. Talk about a finish with a flourish.
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2022 Posted October 4, 2022 Atlanta leads the Marlins 2-1 going to the bottom of he 9th in Miami. Marlins have 3 outs to produce some magic. A walk off would be nice.Even bettwer in my view would be for the Marlins to tie it up, then eventually win with a walk off in 14th or 15th inning.
