G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2022 Author Posted July 24, 2022 Nice ovation for the newest Met, with the fans grateful for the specter of somebody who might drive in a run,
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2022 Posted July 30, 2022 I know one about Vogelbach's #32 ... it's not in honor of his waist size.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 30, 2022 Posted July 30, 2022 It could be his neck size though.Or a tribute to what used to be Van Morrison's worst track on his worst album.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 4, 2022 Posted August 4, 2022 I'm guessing that for the Saturday double-header, we get to see Vogelbach break out his glove.

Ruf-elbach are not good fielders. Good hitters but not good fielders. You're right, Pete should DH one of the games but Dom is not on the ML roster. Canha played 1B for an inning so he is a possibility.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 5, 2022 Posted August 5, 2022 I have a perverse need to see ballplayers forced to do the full range of ballplaying. In fact, if I could go back to the beginning and reinvent the game, I'd require each player in the lineup to pitch one inning.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2022 Posted August 5, 2022 Ruf has played first quite a bit in his career, probably more than Canha.

If "throwing" includes pitching, why the heck not? Fun idea.Later

MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2022 Posted August 11, 2022 Just saw the replay of Vogelbach's double as he just beat the throw into second.I'm wondering who ran faster, Vogelbach yesterday or Bartolo Colon on his famous home run?Later
