Another day sans McNeil. Perhaps they should have just IL'd him on Tuesday.

And once more, with the opposition included.

Jon Berti, Met-taunting pest though he might be, rides the bench after getting thrown out in the ninth last night.

[bLOCKQUOTE]
Jeff McNeil (hamstring) remains absent from the Mets' starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Marlins.

McNeil will miss his fourth consecutive contest since making an early exit on Monday due to right hamstring tightness. He remains day-to-day and has managed to avoid a trip to the injured list for now. It's unclear whether he'll be ready to go for Sunday's series finale later this weekend.

Walker pitching again?!?! I'm sick of this guy. Give the guy a break, wouldja, Buck! Jesus! And I don't mean Aguilar. Or Sanchez.

As far as Squirrel goes, we didn't need him to pinch-hit yesterday, so maybe that's his role for now, to bat once late in a game, but to sit another day if there's no need for him. It's not as though the Mets don't have other 2B men or LFers who can take the wear and tear that maybe he can't right now.

What are they doing at SNY? There was a close call on Nimmo's foul ball down the 1B line, GKR talk about the 1B umps' "rough night" but we don't see a replay of the foul ball to see if the call was correct.

No talk about the GB being fair. Looked close, but no one argued the point, so I guess it went clearly but barely foul. 1-2-3 strikeouts in the top of the first.

One thing you can say for the acquisition of Javier Baez — he brought that hand-jive sliding technique to the Mets.
