Before McCann went down, he was splitting starts with Nido on something like a 60/40 basis, and when he got hurt, that ratio continued with Nido getting the 60 and Mazeika getting the 40, but it's sure been a lot more Nido of late. He's hitting the ball hard but not getting the results. Mazeika just isn't hitting.



But look at Nido here, getting the call for a day game after a night game, against an All-Star quality righthander. He may have thrown a ball pointlessly into centerfield in the ninth inning last night, but he has the lion's share of Buck's faith.

I think Buck likes Nido. Didn't he remind us in a post-gamer that Tomas won

a batting title in the minor leagues or am I thinking of something else?

Is something like a regular starting 9 and batting order beginning to emerge? I hope so. Buck kept switching things up too much for my taste, and it seems my request for some stability has been heard,

Nido is objectively a terrible major league hitter, but he's (a) good defensively for the most part, ( better than Mazeika, and © the only other catcher on the roster. So you play him.

My "no" was responding to KC's question "am I thinking of something else?" as in "No, KC, you're remembering correctly."



And Edgy you did not use the image of a Cub Scout merit badge, that's my rephrasing of your sentiment. You just allowed as to how winning a batting title in the low minors several years ago wasn't exactly the most reassuring praise of Nido's batting skills you could have possibly heard from Buck's oleaginous mouth.
