Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2022 Posted June 14, 2022 I just realized that starting on Saturday (6/18) the Mets have eight games in nine days and that six of those eight are day games, including a rare day game on a non-holiday Monday.Sat 6/18 vs Marlins 4:10Sun 6/19 vs Marlins 1:40Mon 6/20 vs Marlins 1:10 (both teams fly one and two time zones for games on Tuesday: Mets to Houston, Marlins to Denver)Tue 6/21 @ Houston 8:10=#008000]Wed 6/22 @ Houston 2:10 (Astros host the Mets then head to the Bronx for four (6/23-26) then stay in NYC for the Mets (6/28 & 29) then host the Yanx for a make-up day on 6/30, and then head to Oakland)Thu 6/23 - OFFFri 6/24 @ Miami 6:40=#008000]Sat 6/25 @ Miami 4:10Sun 6/26 @ Miami 12:05Of course many of those day games will be in south Florida and east Texas in mid/late-June and in domes so they'll probably see more iron girders than sunshine, but you get the idea.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2022 Posted June 14, 2022 Monday, I learned today, is a federal holiday: Juneteenth, officially marked Monday since this year June 19 falls on a Sunday,

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2022 Author Posted June 14, 2022 Not an uninterrupted home-and-home ... but pretty close.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2022 Posted June 14, 2022 The home-and-home with one interleague opponent has occurred since whenever the Astros went to the AL and the leagues were balanced at 15 teams. Each team plays 20 interleague games. For the Mets, in AL Central/AL West years, it's 4 teams x 3 games (2 home series, 2 road) plus 1 team x 4 games (home and road) plus 4 games vs Yankees.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2022 Posted June 14, 2022 As for the day games, the 4:10 Saturday start is underrated. A few more Sunday 4:10 starts would also be welcome.
