Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted May 3, 2022 Posted May 3, 2022 Wow. I thought a second inning would spoil his pristine start but he's gonna be a phenomenon before long.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted May 3, 2022 Posted May 3, 2022 My Dark Horse pick for 2021. Eventually he heard me.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 3, 2022 Posted May 3, 2022 I don't know what's going to happen to May, but Showalter seems to have enough pitchers he trusts to largely preschedule them for use in alternating games without regard to the situation. The season has a long way to go, but if this protects the Smiths and Ottavinos from overuse, it puts them in a good position to extend this level of performance.

The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted May 3, 2022 Posted May 3, 2022 I really liked Drew Smith last year. This year I absolutely love him.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 3, 2022 Posted May 3, 2022 Doesn't seem like it, but he's one of the longest tenured Mets, depending on how you're measuring. Debuted in June 2018.
