Braves are wearing their early 1970s throwbacks to honor Aaron. Don't like the Braves, and I know the concern about the imagery. But I love the design.

Normally when a team sucks you could say, "Hey at least we have a young top draft pick contributing," but Jonathan India has been on the DL twice already. And you could say, we have future hall of fame, but Votto is out with COVID. And the only pitcher worth anything on the club has been hurt all year.



The Commish should step in and force them to take Cano, and sign Conforto.

The young top draft pick the Reds are attempting to feature is 22-year-old fireballer Hunter Greene, who first hit 93 as a high school freshman.



After generating all sorts of ink in his first start by throwing an MLB record 39 pitches at three-digit speed, he has settled in to his Redliness with a 1-4 record and an 8.71 ERA.

So with a chance to sweep a DH what do they do? ... have two pitchers combine to serve up 3 taters in the top of the 1st of course. And this to a Pirate lineup featuring five sub-.210 hitters, most of whom I couldn't pick out of a police lineup.

After two innings it appears NBC/Peacock is doing the opposite of Apple+:

the graphics are typical,

the PBP announcer is the excellent Jason Benetti,

the color announcers are from the booths of each team which gives them familiarity with the teams.

No novices and no drop-ins who read the Media Guide to us.

I can do without on-field interviews (2 so far) and Steve Stone doesn't shut up but so far so good.
