The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted April 19, 2022 Posted April 19, 2022 I'd let Marte run if he got a good jump.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 19, 2022 Posted April 19, 2022 Fuck and yes!!And they're actually pulling his jersey off.
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted April 19, 2022 Posted April 19, 2022 Solid line drive single by Lindor to win it.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 19, 2022 Posted April 19, 2022 Alonso went 0-4 with two strikeouts, but he ends up being a big part of this win.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted April 19, 2022 Posted April 19, 2022 Feels like they stole this one right out from under their noses. Good win.
Methead Old-Timey Member Posted April 19, 2022 Posted April 19, 2022 Best win of the year so far. Can't wait to see how they piss away game 2!
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 19, 2022 Posted April 19, 2022 Delayed thoughts on the Game !!! (cuz I watched the game on delay)- Both replay reviews were obviously big (one built a run for us the other took one off the board for them) and both were Probably correct. But both were razor close and (IMO) fell short of the "definitive" standard that supposedly exists and I would have been one bitchin' sum-bitch if we had been on the opposite end of either of those calls much less both of them.- Like Gary, I'm not sure how Buck got away with that double-switch w/Nimmo. It ultimately didn't matter but it should call Willie Randolph to mind from one of his early games (was it his very first?). Coming as early as it did it led to charges that Willie didn't know how to double-switch but he was more a victim of unusual circumstances as the inning ended on a CS (or maybe a pickoff) and Doug Meintkiewicz (I used to know how to spell that) ran onto the field before anyone had a chance to tell him he was out of the game. The umps didn't let Willie get away with itthen and I don't see why they didn't swat away Buck's attempt today.- The Jankowsi/Dom back-to-back-K's hurt although, in Jandowski's defense, he was thrown a couple of nasty pitches. Would have helped if hewas looking away in that situation but it didn't look like it he was. Dom simply looked bad in his AB.- Lindor's throwing is a bit worrisome.
