bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted June 20, 2022 Posted June 20, 2022 A pitcher has to go as the maximum number is 13 as of today. Medina or Lopez?https://twitter.com/martinonyc/status/1538871365717172225
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted June 20, 2022 Author Posted June 20, 2022 Lugo to paternity leave, Dom returns.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted June 20, 2022 Posted June 20, 2022 If they were going to bring up Dom, why did they bring up Palka a day before Dom and then not activate him?Dom was down longer then ten days, so it isn't a CBA issue.Later
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 20, 2022 Posted June 20, 2022 They didn't bring Palka up a day before Dom. They summoned him on the same day they activated Smith.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted June 20, 2022 Posted June 20, 2022 (edited) I saw the announcement that they were going to bring him to New York yesterday. The question still stands, why would they have both join the team if they were only going to activate one?Later Edited June 20, 2022 by Guest
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted June 20, 2022 Author Posted June 20, 2022 Taxi squad, perhaps. Dom didn't arrive until late.

In such circumstances (three men on baby watch, for instance), you might bring in a player while being unsure about whether you're going to activate him.Or, sometimes, you simply get a guy in town even though he won't be activated for a day or two, perhaps to catch the team charter to Houston.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2022 Posted June 23, 2022 Lugo reinstated; Yoan Lopez Super Ultra sent back down.Cuz, y'know, it has to be a pitcher for pitcher swap.I suspect we'll see McCann for Mazieka next but nobody's called me with that info yet. (I'm corresponding with a real HVAC Met)
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2022 Author Posted June 24, 2022 McCann returns. Mazeika optioned.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2022 Posted June 24, 2022 From SNY:James McCann was activated from the IL before Friday's game against the Marlins in Miami, with Patrick Mazeika sent down to Triple-A Syracuse to make room on the roster.Later
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2022 Posted June 27, 2022 According to NBC Sports, New York Mets pitcher Tylor Megill will be out until at least mid-August, with the team moving him to the 60-day injured list. The 26-year-old right-hander was put on the 15-day IL on June 17 because of a strained right shoulder, joining aces Jacob deGrom and Max Scherzer. The Mets said at the time Megill would not throw for four weeks.Earlier in the season, Megill missed four weeks with right biceps tendinitis and returned June 10. He is 4-2 with a 5.01 ERA in nine starts this year.New York made the 40-man roster move to open a spot for infielder Kramer Robertson, who was claimed off waivers from Atlanta and optioned to Triple-A Syracuse. New York also activated right-hander Colin Holderman from the injured list and optioned him to Triple-A Syracuse.Later
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2022 Author Posted June 28, 2022 Ender Inciarte, as No. 22, has been promoted. Nick Plummer has been optioned.(With Locke St. John DFA'd.)
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2022 Author Posted July 1, 2022 R.J. Alvarez, No. 71, takes the IL'd Chris Bassitt's roster spot.(Locke St. John is outrighted to Syracuse.)
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2022 Author Posted July 3, 2022 Peterson to paternity list, Holderman returns.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2022 Author Posted July 5, 2022 Chasen Shreve is DFA'd to make room for Max Scherzer. Not a bad tradeoff.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2022 Author Posted July 5, 2022 So it doesn't get lost on the previous page, Scherzer back, Shreve DFA'd.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted July 6, 2022 Author Posted July 6, 2022 R.J. Alvarez ghosts to Syracuse as Papa David Peterson returns from paternity leave.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 6, 2022 Posted July 6, 2022 R.J. Alvarez may never earn that admission to Club J. afterall.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted July 6, 2022 Posted July 6, 2022 Frayed Knot wrote:Joely Richardson's hitless two-K inning last night bother you that much?I said inconsistent, as in Adam Ottavino.Later
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 6, 2022 Posted July 6, 2022 I don't know where the line is between consistent relievers and inconsistent ones. The notion that consistency somehow redeems Joely Rodriguez and not Adam Ottavino is hard to reconcile.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted July 6, 2022 Posted July 6, 2022 Everyone has their own line. You fill the glass drop by drop until it finally spills over the edge.Adam crossed that line for me.But that's just me.Of course, if he goes out there and blows them away in his next appearance, I'll gladly drain some of the water out of the glass. I'm a fan.Later
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 6, 2022 Posted July 6, 2022 So the Mets are, or are not, a better team if they ditch Ottovino by the side of the road?
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted July 6, 2022 Posted July 6, 2022 I didn't like him when he was an MFY. He was an arrogant a-hole who bragged that Babe Ruth couldn't have gotten a hit off him.I didn't like it when the Mets signed him.I don't like him now.I don't know if the Mets will be better or worse without him, but I'll feel better.Later
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 6, 2022 Posted July 6, 2022 Well when you find someone who'll surpass the guy who's probably been the second best reliever on the team this year, let me know.Of course this replacement would not only have to best those numbers but he'd have to do so consistently as I hate it when guysproduct inconsistent 3.2 ERAs and 1.05 WHIPsAs for the rest of the stuff I couldn't possibly care less what he once said about Ruth, a guy who is dead at the present time.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 6, 2022 Posted July 6, 2022 I wish the goalposts didn't keep moving.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted July 6, 2022 Posted July 6, 2022 My opinion.That's all.Why do you care so much about what I think?Later
