The (Revised) Schedule

So I went onto MLB.com in order to remember which games were slated for the dustbin, only to discover that the the first two weeks of games had already been pre-erased from the calendar

issued by the official website of the ruling class. Fortunately we secured a copy in our 2022 sked thred* so I was able to discern that what now has to be made up are two home series: One

three-game set vs WAS and a two-gamer vs the Braves.



Assuming that this new April 7th Opening Day target remains a fact, the Mets instead will open with seven straight games on the road, first a four game series in DC before heading up the

street (I-95) for three in Philly-delphia. Then, following an off day, the home opener on Friday (night of course) 4/15 vs the Snakes of Arizona.



That the two series to be made up are both vs division opponents makes things easier but of course that won't be the case with every team, probably not with most of them.

I'm not even going to try at this point to look at mutual off-days or travel schedules so as to predict where/when those missing five contests will eventually get slotted.

3 home games v. WSH and 2 home games v. ATL were postponed. My GUESS is that the WSH games will fill the additional 3 days of the regular season and the 2 games with ATL will become doubleheaders (unless is there is a common off-day).

The home opener on April 15 is now listed as a day game.

April 7 at DC is now a 4:05 start.

Here is the latest revised schedule, which includes two new double-headers against ATL to make up for the 2 from the original schedule, 3 dates at the end of the year v. WSH, and all Sunday afternoon games are now at 1:40 because of the Peacock deal (so their early start will be exclusive for longer).

Tuesday Night Mets May 3 is now Tuesday Day-Night Mets, a doubleheader starting at 3 pm
