Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 25, 2021 Posted August 25, 2021 Sucky double-play but great execution by the Gigantes.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2021 Posted August 25, 2021 Gary with a funny line after the IF'er stopped the single from going into the OF: it "saved a run for now". It should have been "forever".
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 25, 2021 Posted August 25, 2021 Ill Communication, the new album from Michael Conforto and Jeff McNeil.https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/9/92/Beastie_Boys_Ill_Communication.jpg>
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2021 Posted August 25, 2021 McNeil was the only one who could have caught but looked like he had no interest in doing so.Meanwhile, Luis has some 'splainin to do on this pitching chsnge.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2021 Posted August 25, 2021 F U Luis. I hope that Luis enjoys his next position as Minor League Coordinator.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2021 Posted August 25, 2021 Is there anyone who doesn't believe that this half-inning is going to end 6-2?

Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2021 Posted August 25, 2021 Crawford cannot stop beating us. We learned from a Giants fan seated behind us last night that Crawford grew up a Giants fan and was actually pictured in the paper back when they threatened to move to Tampa. Check out the photo.https://throughthefencebaseball.com/brandon-crawfords-journey-from-childhood-dream-to-world-series-reality/https://throughthefencebaseball.com/brandon-crawfords-journey-from-childhood-dream-to-world-series-reality/
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2021 Posted August 25, 2021 If McNeil's not standing there thinking about his first pitch groundout with the bases loaded instead of trying to catch the pop-up then Walker is still in the game.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2021 Author Posted August 25, 2021 Crawford bleeds Giants blood.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2021 Posted August 25, 2021 Nimmo sets up the next GIDP

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 25, 2021 Posted August 25, 2021 Conforto's gonna need a bigger glove.

Still not sure i agree but with two LHBs due up it's defensible.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 25, 2021 Posted August 25, 2021 I think Baez is the first secondbaseman to wear 23 since Tim Bogar. It's been an outfielder's number for a while.
batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2021 Posted August 25, 2021 IIRC, Johnny Cueto had some well pitched starts against the Mets back when he was with the Reds.I'm not optimistic about seeing an offensive explosion against him.[FIMG=333]https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51403784040_b785031861_b.jpg[/FIMG]
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 25, 2021 Posted August 25, 2021 I'm a Mets fan, but that Tyler Rogers act is an easy thing to like.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2021 Posted August 25, 2021 NYM batters have kept a collective 18 runners on base thru 8 innings. The Giants? Four

It seems like while this team is busy not getting hits they seem to foul off at least 1 hittable pitch in every turn-- often, the best one they will see....Are foul balls good bad or indifferent, overall? If they're fouling off hittable pitches, I think that's bad. But wadoooeyeknow? Maybe it takes a pitch to time the pitcher? If they're fouling off bad pitches, that's also bad because they're swinging at balls.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2021 Posted August 25, 2021 Yeah it's a mystery to me, just something we noticed. If the seats in medium left were in fair terroitory the Mets would lead the league in hitting is all
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2021 Posted August 25, 2021 (edited) If I had time I'd put up a 'Who'll Hit into the Game Ending GiDP?' poll. Edited August 25, 2021 by Guest

Hershiser wasn't fazed and said he'd take that result every day of the week. He said that the way the pitch was located, it was impossible to hit it fair and that the hitter was a sucker for even swinging at it.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2021 Posted August 25, 2021 Whatever became of Jose Peraza? We could probably use his lumber now.Oh what a terrible error
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 25, 2021 Posted August 25, 2021 How hard is the Giants defense trying to give this one to the Mets?
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2021 Posted August 25, 2021 The SF OF keeps the game-ending GIDP in play.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2021 Posted August 25, 2021 Well, nobody better than Nimmo
