My (then) wife and i lived in the Bay Area from 1998-2013. I really became a fan, especially after the Giants moved from Candlestick to the city. One day, my then 10 and 6 year olds (??) came back from school with "very important news to discuss." After the Giants won 3/5 championships, and all their friends were crazy for Posey, Panda, and that long-bearded closer, they "didn't want to root for the Mets but liked the Giants."



It was kinda hard to argue, but I put them up for adoption.

I'm definitely rooting for the giants over the dodgers to win the division. They've made lots of admirable stealth moves and built budget friendly competition to the freespending Dodgers when it would be easy not to.that said, their asses badly need 3 whuppins beginning tonight

I gotta tell ya...that stadium, and that announcing team (Kuiper and Krukow, whom MFS62 once described as 'having a smirk like he just fucked your sister'), and those garlic fries....shit they made it hard not to be a fan.



They are the only team I'd consider supporting.....if not for our Mets.

I'm tending to think the McCann contract may work out a little bit, and he'll be a contributor to good teams.



It's hard to be optimistic about anything the last few weeks, but McCann's problems this seasons seem to have been about 80% chasing sliders away against righties. Now that (a) he's laying off a little bit, and ( sliders have suddenly become less magical following the sticky-ban, he seems to hang in alright against them.
