ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 16, 2021 Posted August 16, 2021 Rojas was effusive in his praise for the Mets in battling the Dodgers.Oye, they lost them all Luis.Pete Alonso's post game comments after the Phillies series were odd...No Pete, its not on the fans, its on you.Javy Baez hits the IL. Villar sure has a strangehold on SS.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 16, 2021 Author Posted August 16, 2021 The good news is the Giants don't hit very much either.

Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted August 16, 2021 Posted August 16, 2021 They also have both Belt and Longoria back from recent injuries. Gausman is a dark horse Cy Young candidate.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted August 16, 2021 Posted August 16, 2021 I do believe the SFG social media team is trolling us by featuring their first baseman.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 16, 2021 Posted August 16, 2021 I do believe the SFG social media team is trolling us by featuring their first baseman.https://twitter.com/sfgiants/status/1427399267812052994Those are the fans who boo-ed Willie Mays and cheered Orlando Cepeda. They don't deserve a major league baseball team.Fuck 'em.LGMLater
DocTee Old-Timey Member Posted August 16, 2021 Posted August 16, 2021 My (then) wife and i lived in the Bay Area from 1998-2013. I really became a fan, especially after the Giants moved from Candlestick to the city. One day, my then 10 and 6 year olds (??) came back from school with "very important news to discuss." After the Giants won 3/5 championships, and all their friends were crazy for Posey, Panda, and that long-bearded closer, they "didn't want to root for the Mets but liked the Giants."It was kinda hard to argue, but I put them up for adoption.

Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted August 16, 2021 Posted August 16, 2021 I'm definitely rooting for the giants over the dodgers to win the division. They've made lots of admirable stealth moves and built budget friendly competition to the freespending Dodgers when it would be easy not to.that said, their asses badly need 3 whuppins beginning tonight
DocTee Old-Timey Member Posted August 16, 2021 Posted August 16, 2021 I gotta tell ya...that stadium, and that announcing team (Kuiper and Krukow, whom MFS62 once described as 'having a smirk like he just fucked your sister'), and those garlic fries....shit they made it hard not to be a fan. They are the only team I'd consider supporting.....if not for our Mets.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted August 16, 2021 Posted August 16, 2021 Yeah probably my favorite out of town park... I always say this but nice fans who were totally fun.I'm into the black and orange teams, Orioles and Giants, after The Mets, whom I of course hate-root for these days
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 16, 2021 Posted August 16, 2021 I'm tending to think the McCann contract may work out a little bit, and he'll be a contributor to good teams. It's hard to be optimistic about anything the last few weeks, but McCann's problems this seasons seem to have been about 80% chasing sliders away against righties. Now that (a) he's laying off a little bit, and ( sliders have suddenly become less magical following the sticky-ban, he seems to hang in alright against them.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 16, 2021 Posted August 16, 2021 Brandon Nimmo: "Every day, I'm hustlin'."
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted August 16, 2021 Posted August 16, 2021 Don't look now (seriously, don't). The Mets have an inning building here
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted August 16, 2021 Posted August 16, 2021 Well, a 2-run triple for Fonso.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 16, 2021 Posted August 16, 2021 They had an oh-for-37 streak with runners in scoring position in 2001.I feel like that was the streak the one that got the term "noffense" coined at the MOFo.And on that note Alonso ends our current streak with a two-run triple!
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted August 16, 2021 Posted August 16, 2021 Sacky fly for the struggling Dom Smith and the Mets have a lead.Last Mets triple belonged to McKinney
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 16, 2021 Posted August 16, 2021 Worth noting that the spark that lit the fire here was Nimms leading off with the hustle single.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted August 16, 2021 Posted August 16, 2021 And so Castro promptly gets 2-run homered by Kris Bryant
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted August 16, 2021 Posted August 16, 2021 I'm not going to last long enough to see this one end so I'll be sure to be pissed off 1st thing in the morning.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted August 16, 2021 Posted August 16, 2021 Jay Jackson. Are they really going out with him?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 16, 2021 Posted August 16, 2021 Mets starting a new oh-for-RISP streak.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 16, 2021 Posted August 16, 2021 Familia vs. Flores is a matchup crying for a double-play.
